We stand with you in prayer, crying out to God for the protection of innocent Christians, especially our African American brothers and sisters, who are being targeted by evil and racist individuals committing unjust hate crimes. We denounce these wicked acts and pray for God's shield of protection over them.
Let us pray:
Father, in the name of Jesus, we come to You pleading for Your divine protection over Your children. We pray for our African American brothers and sisters in Christ who are facing hate crimes and racial injustice. We ask, Lord, that You would thwart the plans of the enemy and bring to naught the evil intentions of those who seek to harm Your people.
We know that "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved" from all wickedness and intentional harm. Therefore, Lord, we call on Your name. We pray that You would be a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. We ask that You would send Your angels to encamp around those who fear You and deliver them.
We also pray for those who are committing these hateful acts. We pray that You would change their hearts, Lord, and bring them to repentance. Help them to see the error of their ways and turn to You. We know that "all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God," and that Jesus came to save all people "while we were yet sinners."
We ask for Your peace and comfort for those who have already been affected by these hate crimes. We pray for healing, restoration, and justice. We know that You are the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our afflictions, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
We pray for the churches, that they would be a beacon of light and hope in their communities, reaching out to the hurting and the broken. We pray for the leaders of our nation, that they would enact policies that promote justice and equality for all.
We come against the spirit of racism and hatred, and we declare that it has no place in our society. We ask, Lord, that You would bring unity and reconciliation, that You would teach us to love one another, even as You have loved us.
We pray all these things in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage everyone to be in fervent prayer without ceasing. Let us be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, loving one another even as Christ has loved us.
