Disciple of Prayer
Hello, I'm trying to find prayers for my mother. She has been suffering with severe ### for years and we are unable to afford the care she needs. It's very hard to get anyone to help us. There has been so much going on in life recently for us that it's really hard to keep our heads up. I'm feeling so lost and sometimes I don't feel that my prayers are enough, I'm hoping that if others were to help pray for her maybe things would work out somehow. Thank you for taking the time to read.

We hear your heartache and the heavy burden you carry for your mother, and we stand with you in lifting her before the Lord. Your love for her is evident, and we want you to know that your prayers are enough, because they are heard by the One who holds all things in His hands. The Word reminds us, "The eyes of Yahweh are toward the righteous, and his ears listen to their cry" (Psalm 34:15). Even when the weight of circumstances feels unbearable, God sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He is not distant from your suffering; He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

We also recognize the deep strain of financial hardship and the exhaustion of seeking help that seems out of reach. In these moments, we are called to cast our anxieties on Him, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). The Lord is our provider, and though the world may fail us, He never will. "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). We pray that He would open doors no man can shut, lead you to resources you haven’t yet discovered, and soften the hearts of those in a position to assist.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious mother and her family. Lord, You see the years of suffering she has endured, and You know the weight her loved ones carry. We ask for Your healing touch to rest upon her, whether through medical breakthroughs, divine intervention, or the hands of skilled caregivers You place in her path. Provide for every need, Father, and break the chains of financial lack that bind them. Open the eyes of those who can help, and let Your provision flow like a river.

Strengthen this family’s faith, Lord. When discouragement creeps in, remind them that You are their refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Help them to fix their eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). Surround them with a community of believers who will stand with them in prayer and practical support. And above all, draw their hearts closer to You, that they may know the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness in Jesus’ name. Let hope rise in their hearts, for You are the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way. We declare that this family will not be forsaken, and that Your goodness and mercy will follow them all the days of their lives (Psalm 23:6).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You and the only name by which we are saved. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If this family does not yet know You as their Lord and Savior, we pray that they would surrender their lives to You, trusting in Your sacrifice on the cross for their sins. For "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Hold them close, Father. Let them feel Your presence in tangible ways, and may Your love be the anchor for their souls. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We hear the exhaustion in your words, the weight of watching someone you love suffer, the strain of not having the resources you need, and the loneliness of feeling your prayers might not be enough. That is a heavy load to carry, and it makes sense that you feel lost right now.

Caring for a parent with severe ongoing health needs can drain every part of a person, and you are doing this while life keeps throwing other difficulties your way. Many of us have felt that fear that we are simply not enough for the situation we are in. What we have seen again and again, though, is that God does not ask us to be enough. He asks us to show up, to love, and to let others help carry what we cannot. Reaching out here matters. It is not a sign that your prayers are failing, it is a sign that you are still fighting for your mother’s wellbeing, and there is humble strength in admitting you need others to stand with you.

One practical thing you might consider is seeing whether there is a caregiver support group in your area, or a ministry that comes alongside families facing disability or long-term illness. Organizations like ### offer retreats and encouragement for families. Just being in a room with people who understand can lift something off your shoulders and remind you that you are not invisible in this struggle.

Thank you for letting us know. We are praying with you now.

Lord, we lift up this daughter and her mother to You. You see the illness, the financial pressure, and the exhaustion. Please make a way where there seems to be none, open doors to helpful care, bring trustworthy people to support them, and sustain this daughter’s heart when she has nothing left to give. Wrap them both in Your peace, and remind them deeply that they are not alone. In Jesus’ name.

I hear the cry of a burdened heart, and it does not fall on deaf ears in the courts of heaven. You feel your own prayers are insufficient, and you long for others to join their supplications to yours. This is the very spirit of the Apostle, who, when he faced an agony too bitter to be borne alone, besought the brethren that they would agonize together with him in prayer. Your instinct to seek fellow-pleaders at the throne of grace is a right and scriptural one. It is no small thing to have even two or three gathered in Christ’s name, for there He is in the midst.

Cast away the thought that your prayers are not enough because they seem weak. It is not the eloquence of the prayer but the Object of faith that prevails. The simplest cry, “Lord, help me,” when darted from a heart conscious of utter need, is a powerful plea. This woman of Canaan, with her brief petition, won a blessing from Christ’s own lips. So take that prayer to your mother’s bedside, no lengthened phrases are needed. Cry it in the night watches, whisper it in weariness, sob it when your spirit sinks. That prayer will do to live with, and it will do to plead over a suffering parent.

And know this: when you pray, you are not alone. We have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He ever lives to intercede, and He knows by name those for whom He pleads. He prayed for Peter by name because Peter had special need. He knows your mother’s case, her years of affliction, the helplessness of your poverty, the weight of so much going on beside. He is not untouched by her groaning, nor by your distress. If you cannot afford the earthly physician, the Great Physician needs no fee and is not limited by human resources.

Lay the sick one before Him. Bring her, in spirit, and set her down at His feet. Though her malady be of long standing and the care seems beyond reach, the case is never hopeless when His healing power is near. That same One who restored the demoniac boy when the disciples were powerless, that same One who opened deaf ears and loosened silent tongues, still deals in real grace for real needs. Your mother has sore need of healing; plead her necessity. And while you look for a temporal healing, seek an eternal one. The best cure for all ills is the peace of God, which passes understanding.

Do not let your heart faint under the accumulated trials. When we are under great strain, prayer is our native breath. Unite with the church in this request; we will mention her before the Lord by name, as you have asked. And as you pray, be not only on your knees, but see to it that your sincerity moves you to do whatever you can to help answer your own prayer, a kind word, a tender touch, a patient endurance alongside her. Such deeds prove the prayer is not hypocritical.

Finally, I breathe over you this blessing from the Word: “Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.” May He revive your spirit, sustain your mother, and cause His face to shine upon you both in this dark hour. Hope in the God who shuts out no sincere prayer.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is no small thing to watch a mother suffer for years and to face closed doors when she needs care. I will not tell you to ignore that burden. The Church is commanded to bear one another’s burdens, so your request is right. I will remember her in prayer, and I will ask others to pray with you.

But do not think your own prayers are empty. The prayer of the saints is a good thing, yet it helps most when you yourself are awake and praying. Paul did not refuse the prayers of the church, and Peter was delivered when the church prayed earnestly for him. So keep asking, even with words that feel weak. God looks at the heart, not at fine speech.

What you can do, do it with love. The care you give your mother, even when money is short, is not wasted. Christ said it is more blessed to give than to receive, and the bonds of nature are a sacred calling. When you feel lost, that is not proof God has left you; it is the soul crying for Him. Pour out that cry daily.

Let us pray. O Lord Jesus Christ, true Physician of souls and bodies, look upon this mother in her long affliction. Provide the care she needs, even by ways her family cannot see. Strengthen the one who watches over her. Where human help fails, be their helper. Give them grace to wait upon You without despair, and if it is Your will, raise her up; if not, carry them both through the suffering. We ask this in Your holy name. Amen.

I commend you and your mother to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all them that are sanctified.
