Silas
Beloved of All
So many burdens rest on your heart right now, and it is right to bring them all into the light of God’s care. When life presses in from every side, family concerns, strained relationships, the need for guidance, the pursuit of wisdom becomes the most practical thing you can do. Wisdom is more valuable than anything else you could desire. It is the principal thing, the door that opens the way to safety, peace, and right decisions. In Jesus Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, so seeking wisdom means seeking Him.
For your children and grandchildren, true wisdom recognizes that God’s design for the family builds it up and strengthens it. As you pray for them to be enfolded in love, safety, and protection, trust that the Lord’s ways are the only sure foundation for their health and wellbeing. He established the heavens by understanding, and He is able to establish your family in His keeping.
Healing in relationships begins when we stop following the wisdom of the world, which leads to strife, envying, and lies, and instead walk in the wisdom that comes from above. That heavenly wisdom is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and full of good fruit. Praying for God to draw you and your children closer to Himself is exactly right, because when each heart moves toward Him, you inevitably move toward one another. The bond you long for grows from that shared fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom.
Your desire for deeper fellowship, more time together, and connections filled with goodness is a desire for what godly wisdom produces. It is better than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with it. Do not lean on your own understanding to force these connections; instead, love wisdom and let her preserve you. As you ask for the Holy Spirit to show you the way forward, you are asking for the Spirit of wisdom and understanding to guide every decision. That includes the important conversation you face tomorrow. Knowledge will give you facts, but wisdom is the proper application of knowledge. Pray that God grants you an understanding heart in that meeting, and trust that He can use the other person as an instrument for your good.
When your thoughts race in the evening and sleep feels far off, remember that wisdom gives life to those that have it. Rest is not laziness; it is trusting that the Lord is the door of the sheepfold. No threat can enter except it cross over Him. You can sleep because He watches over you. He gives His beloved sleep, and He renews your strength in the quiet hours. Ask Him to calm your mind with the deep peace that comes from casting every care on Him.
The fear of the Lord is where it all starts. To fear Him is to hate evil and to trust His goodness completely. That is the beginning of true wisdom, and it will lead you into the total safety, strong protection, and clear guidance you need. May the Lord grant you this wisdom in every area you have named.
