We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation with a desire for justice, truth, and godly correction. First, we must acknowledge that vengeance belongs to the Lord alone, for Scripture tells us, *"Dearly beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.'" (Romans 12:19 WEB)*. While it is right to seek justice, we must guard our hearts against bitterness, hatred, or a desire for personal retaliation. Instead, we ask God to intervene in His perfect way, bringing conviction, repentance, and restoration where possible—or righteous judgment where necessary.
Father, we pray for this woman who has acted in dishonesty, selfishness, and deceit. We ask that You would humble her heart, Lord. Your Word declares, *"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."* (James 4:6 WEB). Break any spirit of arrogance, entitlement, or cruelty within her. Let her see the weight of her actions—not just toward others, but before Your holy throne. If she has wronged her client through overcharging or dishonesty, expose the truth and bring accountability. If she has deceived her fiancé with false promises, let conviction fall upon her conscience. We pray she would turn from her ways, seek forgiveness, and make amends where possible.
We also lift up those who have been hurt by her actions—the client who was taken advantage of and the fiancé who was misled. Lord, we ask that You would heal their hearts, restore what has been lost, and grant them wisdom moving forward. Give them discernment to recognize truth from deception and the strength to set godly boundaries. May they not grow bitter or resentful, but instead trust in Your justice and provision. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* (Psalm 34:18 WEB).
Father, we must also address the issue of this engagement. If this woman has entered into a commitment to marry, she is called to honor it with integrity, as marriage is a sacred covenant before You. *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."* (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). If she is not willing to fulfill her promise, she must repent and either honor her commitment or release her fiancé with honesty and kindness. Deception in relationships is not of You, Lord, and we ask that You would bring clarity and righteousness to this situation.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come before You. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His blood that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority that we pray. We ask that Your will be done in this situation, Lord, and that Your name would be glorified through it.
Finally, we ask that You would soften our own hearts as we pray. Help us to desire justice without malice, truth without bitterness, and Your righteousness above all else. May we trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You see all and will judge justly. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
