Pray for friend with serious tick disease

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Pray for ###, who has babesiosis, which is a serious disease in his case because he has ### and is aged ###. Pray he may show improvement so they can decide whether he will be ok to leave the hospital - and so he will be okay!

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up in prayer as he battles babesiosis, a serious illness that has taken a toll on his body. We know that our God is the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and restores us to health. Father, we ask that You would stretch out Your healing hand upon , touching every cell in his body that is affected by this disease. Strengthen his immune system, Lord, and give wisdom to the doctors and nurses attending to him. May they see clear signs of improvement so that they can make the best decisions for his care and determine if he is ready to leave the hospital.

We declare Your promise over him from Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We trust in Your power to bring restoration and healing, Lord. We also pray for his family and loved ones, that You would grant them peace and patience as they wait and watch over him. May they feel Your presence surrounding them, giving them strength and hope in this difficult time.

Father, we ask that You would be glorified through this situation, whether through healing or through the endurance and faith that and his family display. May they draw closer to You and experience Your love in new and profound ways. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to You and the power to see miracles unfold. Amen.

We also want to encourage and his loved ones to hold fast to their faith. The road to recovery can be long and challenging, but we serve a God who is faithful and true. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Lean on Him, trust in His promises, and know that you are not alone. We are standing with you in prayer, believing for a testimony of healing and restoration.

It’s hard when someone we care about is stuck in the hospital and so much depends on small signs of improvement. We’re praying with you for your friend, and we know the waiting can be heavy, especially when you’re at a distance and all you can do is hope for good news.

While the medical team watches for the changes they need to see, one simple thing you can do is ask them what specific milestones they’re looking for. That can make the waiting feel a little less blind and help you know what to look for when you’re able to visit or check in. And if you haven’t already, let your friend know you’re praying, sometimes just knowing someone is paying attention and cares is a steadying gift in itself.

As you wait, give yourself permission to step away from the worry for brief moments. A walk, a deep breath, a quiet cup of coffee, these aren’t distractions; they’re what lets you keep showing up for your friend without running empty. If you have others in your life who can check on you too, let them.

Lord, we lift this friend to you now. We ask for clear, steady improvement in his body, the kind that gives his doctors confidence and his loved ones hope. Give them wisdom as they decide about his next steps. Surround him with your peace that goes beyond understanding, and be near to this one who cares so much. We trust him to your goodness, in Jesus’ name.

The sight of a friend laid low with babesiosis, his frame already burdened by years and other infirmities, is a sorrowful thing. It brings us into that waiting room where so many crowd, watching for the moving of the waters, hoping for some sign of improvement. A hospital is indeed a house of waiting, and we feel the weight of it when we love one who lies within its walls. Yet be not cast down as though there were no hope, for the Great Physician still walks among the sick, and His eye singles out the most helpless cases. There never was a patient in Christ’s hospital turned out as incurable; He is able to save to the uttermost, and that uttermost stretches far beyond our deepest weakness.

You ask that he may show improvement, that a decision might be made, and that he would be well. This is right and proper. Yet remember, in the divine dealing, restoration is often a long process. Weakened limbs only recover strength by slow degrees, and the soul too is kept waiting that we might learn to trace each small gain to the hand of the Lord. When he is a little stronger, and a little stronger, let those glimpses of returning health be claims on your affection and bonds of gratitude. The Lord who permits the disease is the health of our countenance; the face often tells the story of the inward working. Pray then, but with eyes watching for what God will do, not prescribing the hour or the method. His Gospel is life, health, and peace to the soul even when the body tarries in weakness. That garden of recovery yields its sweetest fruit when we see that He planted every tree in it Himself.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The affliction of this dear one weighs heavily upon you, and rightly so, for we are commanded to bear one another's burdens. I join my prayers to yours, that the Lord, the true Physician of souls and bodies, would grant improvement to our brother. For if He who made the body wills it, health can be restored even when all human skill stands perplexed. Remember, the gift of healings is but one among many, and even that gift works only cures, while the power of God both punishes and heals, and holds the whole of life in His hand.

Yet I would have you not despair if the answer tarries. For what is done is healing, not despite, even when it comes through affliction. If we bear this trial thankfully, we shall recover even these things; and if we should not recover them, our reward will be greater. When Job had wrestled nobly, then God restored to him all that was lost. He showed the devil that it is not for these things that we serve Him, and then He restored them also.

Therefore, cast not away your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. You have it still; do not let it slip. For it is far easier to hold fast what is not lost than to recover that which has been cast away. And cling to the assurance that love is the summit of all gifts. Though one have prophecy and knowledge and faith and even the gifts of healing, if love be absent, they profit nothing. So pray for his body, yes, but pray yet more that in this sickness his soul be drawn nearer to the love of Christ, which passes all understanding.

Should he show improvement, we will give thanks. Should the Lord determine otherwise, we will give thanks still, knowing that the power is more than the healing, and that He who can raise the dead is able to bring eternal good from every earthly sorrow. May you both find strength in these words, and may the peace of God keep your hearts.

Hearing about your friend’s battle with babesiosis, especially with his health and age weighing on him, moves me to join you in prayer without delay. The hospital can feel like a place where everything is stripped away, and all that's left is a cry: “Lord, I need help.” I know you are crying out, and I will join you.

There is a promise in Scripture where the prophet Isaiah speaks of a day when the desert will blossom, eyes will be opened, and the lame will leap. It points us to the healing that flows from God’s own hand, and we can lean hard on that hope right now. I am asking the Lord to bring clear improvement, so the doctors can confidently decide he is well enough to leave, and so he can walk out of that hospital restored.

Sometimes hospital rooms become unexpected meeting places with the mercy of God. Think of the woman with the hemorrhage who simply reached for Jesus’ garment and found wholeness. I am praying that, even in that bed, your friend would encounter the presence of Christ in a real way, comforting him, lifting his spirit, and strengthening his body.

Let’s also pray for wisdom for the medical team and for peace for all who love him. When God answers, may it be a testimony that stirs gratitude and humility, not pride. I am holding this request before the throne of grace, and I trust that the same Lord who hears desperate prayers in hospital rooms will hear ours now.
