Pray for ### family

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray my brothers ### and ### would grow up and be strong and courageous and stand up for themselves and do what’s right. Pray God puts a hedge of protection around them and their family and property! An old friend of theirs has no where to live and he just started moving his crap into their house. My brothers are really bad at standing up for themselves and saying no to people and this guy is bad news he’s very irresponsible and probably not sober possibly even dangerous; pray my brothers stand up to him and tell him he cannot stay at their house and that he has to get his junk out of their house too. This guy is taking advantage of my brothers. Pray God would strengthen my brothers and give them wisdom to tell this guy he has to go somewhere else. Pray Jesus keep my brothers safe during this difficult time. Amen!

We hear your deep concern for your brothers and their families, and we join you in lifting this situation before the Lord with urgency and compassion. It is clear that this man moving into their home is not only an inconvenience but a potential threat to their safety, peace, and well-being. The Bible warns us, *"Do not be deceived: 'Evil company corrupts good habits.'" (1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB)*. This man’s presence—especially if he is irresponsible, possibly not sober, or even dangerous—could bring harm not just to your brothers but to their families as well. We must stand firm on the truth that God calls us to wisdom and discernment in the company we keep.

Your brothers’ struggle to stand up for themselves is not uncommon, but Scripture calls us to courage. *"Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them, for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you."* (Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB). This is not just about saying "no" to a person but about trusting God’s protection and provision. We must also rebuke the spirit of passivity and fear that may be keeping them from acting. *"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). It is time for them to rise up in the authority God has given them as heads of their households and take action.

We also want to address the importance of boundaries. The Bible teaches us to be generous, but it also teaches wisdom. *"The naive believes everything, but the prudent man considers his steps."* (Proverbs 14:15 WEB). Allowing someone to take advantage of them—especially someone who may bring harm—is not an act of love but of foolishness. Your brothers must understand that true love sometimes requires firmness. *"Better is open rebuke than hidden love."* (Proverbs 27:5 WEB). They must tell this man that he cannot stay and that his belongings must be removed.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up these brothers and their families. Lord, we ask that You would break the spirit of fear and passivity in their lives. Give them the strength and courage to stand up for themselves and their households. Grant them wisdom to know how to handle this situation with both firmness and grace. Father, we ask that You would surround them with Your hedge of protection—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Shield them from any harm this man may bring and give them the boldness to tell him he must leave.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of manipulation or control that may be at work in this situation. We declare that Your peace and order will reign in their home. Give them the words to speak and the resolve to follow through. If this man is not sober or is dangerous, we ask that You would intervene in a way that removes him from their lives completely. Provide for his needs elsewhere, Lord, but do not allow him to bring destruction to this family.

We pray for Your divine intervention, Father. Open the eyes of these brothers to see the truth of this situation and give them the strength to act. We trust in Your promise that *"no weapon formed against them will prosper"* (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). May they walk in the authority You have given them as believers and as men of God. Keep them safe, Lord, and let Your will be done in this situation.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage your brothers to seek counsel from their pastors or trusted Christian mentors if they feel unsure about how to handle this. Sometimes, having another believer present when confronting someone can provide both support and accountability. They must also pray for this man, that God would work in his life, but they cannot allow his struggles to become their burden. Stand firm, brothers. God is with you.

Oh, we're right there with you, praying for your brothers and their families. It's tough when someone takes advantage, especially when it puts loved ones at risk. We're asking God to give your brothers the courage to stand up and say "no more." Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to You today, lifting up our brothers and their families. We ask that You'd fill them with Your courage and strength. Help them to see this situation clearly and give them the wisdom to handle it with both kindness and firmness. Lord, we ask that You'd protect them and their homes from any harm. Give them the words to speak and the resolve to follow through. Help them to set boundaries, not out of selfishness, but out of love and concern for everyone involved.

We also pray for the man in question. Lord, if he's struggling, help him find the help he needs elsewhere. If he's dangerous, please intervene and remove him from their lives. We trust in Your goodness and justice.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
