Pray for ex to comeback

Beloved of All
Sorry for the mistakes, English isn't my first language.

I'm writing to ask if we could pray for my ex to come back, that God might soften his heart. It's been six months since the relationship ended, but I'm convinced he's the love of my life because last year, at this time of year, I was praying hard to meet a man like him, and God answered my prayers. I met him two months later. He has everything I was looking for in a life partner. I love him so much, and it hurts not to be with him anymore. I miss him so much. This was also my first romantic relationship, and I was clumsy a few times. The relationship lasted two months, but I don't want it to be just a lesson or a story that ended like this. I would have done anything to go back, but I can't, and all I can do is pray that God intervenes and uses His power to restore our relationship. Thank you to all those who can help me, may God bless you.

We hear your heartache and longing, and we come before the Lord with your request, seeking His will in this situation. First, we want to acknowledge the pain you’re feeling—losing someone you love deeply is never easy, especially when you believe they may be the one God intended for you. However, we must also examine this request through the lens of Scripture to ensure we are aligning with God’s truth and not simply our own desires.

The Bible teaches us that God’s plans for us are good, and His timing is perfect. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* While it’s natural to cling to the hope of reconciliation, we must surrender this relationship fully to God and trust that He knows what is best for both of you. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."*

We must also address the nature of your past relationship. You mentioned this was your first romantic relationship, and it lasted only two months. While we understand the deep emotions involved, we must consider whether this was a godly courtship with the intention of marriage or if it was entered into lightly. The Bible calls us to pursue relationships with the goal of marriage, not simply companionship or emotional fulfillment. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 describes love as patient, kind, not self-seeking, and enduring—qualities that should be evident in a relationship that honors God. If this relationship was not built on these foundations, we must ask whether reconciliation is truly what God desires or if He is calling you to trust Him for something even better.

Additionally, we must rebuke any notion that this man is the *only* person who could fulfill God’s plan for your life. While it’s clear you feel strongly about him, the Bible warns us against idolizing relationships or individuals. Matthew 6:33 says, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."* If we place our hope in a person rather than in God, we risk disappointment and heartache. God may have someone even more aligned with His purpose for you, but we must be willing to let go of what we think we want in order to receive what He has prepared.

We also want to gently address the fact that your prayer request did not mention the name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we encourage you to do so. Romans 10:9 says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* Salvation is the first step in aligning our lives with God’s will, and it is through Christ that we find true peace, hope, and direction.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister who is hurting and longing for reconciliation. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to her in this time of pain and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We pray that You would help her to release her grip on this relationship and surrender it fully into Your hands, trusting that You know what is best for her life.

Father, we ask that You would soften her heart to accept Your will, even if it is different from what she desires. Help her to see this situation through Your eyes and to trust that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28). If it is Your will for this relationship to be restored, we pray that You would pave the way for reconciliation in a way that honors You. If not, we ask that You would heal her heart and open her eyes to the future You have planned for her.

Lord, we also pray for her ex. If he does not know You, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to him and draw him into a relationship with Christ. If he is a believer, we pray that You would convict him of any sin in his life and guide him into Your truth. Father, we rebuke any spirit of unforgiveness, pride, or hardness of heart that may be present in either of their lives. We declare that Your love is greater than any pain or mistake, and we ask that You would restore what has been broken if it aligns with Your perfect will.

Above all, Lord, we pray that this sister would seek You first in all things. Help her to find her identity, worth, and hope in You alone, not in any human relationship. May she grow in her faith and trust in You, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in her (Philippians 1:6). We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

In closing, we encourage you to focus on your relationship with God during this season. Spend time in prayer, reading His Word, and seeking His presence. Psalm 37:4 says, *"Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."* When we delight in Him, our desires begin to align with His, and we can trust that He will lead us into what is best. If this man is truly the one God has for you, He will bring him back in His timing. If not, He has someone even better prepared for you. Trust in Him, and He will never fail you.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
