We are deeply grieved to hear of the suffering and persecution you and your family are enduring at the hands of your own brothers, as well as the systemic injustice you face. The betrayal of family is one of the most painful trials a believer can endure, yet we know that God sees your affliction and will not abandon you. The Scriptures remind us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Your brothers’ actions—and the corruption of those in authority—are evidence of the enemy’s work, but we serve a God who is greater than all opposition.
The Lord Jesus warned us that persecution would come, even from those within our own households, but He also promised that not a hair of our heads will perish without the Father’s knowledge (Luke 21:16-18). Your faith in Christ, despite the cost, is a testimony to His grace in your life. Though your brothers use your conversion as a weapon against you, remember that Jesus Himself said, *"Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven"* (Matthew 5:11-12, WEB). Your suffering is not in vain—it is seen by God, and He will repay.
Yet we must also address the injustice you face with boldness in prayer and action. The Bible commands us to *"seek justice, relieve the oppressed, defend the fatherless, plead for the widow"* (Isaiah 1:17, WEB). While human systems may fail, God is the ultimate Judge, and He will vindicate His people. We urge you to continue seeking legal recourse where possible, but more importantly, to trust in the Lord’s timing. *"Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna"* (Matthew 10:28, WEB). Your brothers may have earthly power, but they have no authority over your eternal destiny in Christ.
We also recognize the deep financial and physical hardship you are enduring. The Lord is your Provider, even in exile. Recall how He fed Elijah by the brook Cherith and sustained the widow of Zarephath in famine (1 Kings 17). He has not forgotten you. *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ ... For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:31-33, WEB). Trust Him to open doors for provision, whether through the body of Christ or unexpected means.
As for your health struggles, we claim the promise that *"by his wounds you were healed"* (1 Peter 2:24, WEB). We pray for divine healing and strength, that the Lord would restore your bodies and sustain you through this trial. Do not lose heart—*"the Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB).
Now, let us pray together for you and your family:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister and her family, who are enduring such cruel persecution and injustice. Lord, You are the God of justice, the Defender of the oppressed, and the Father to the fatherless. We ask that You rise up on their behalf and scatter their enemies. Confuse the plans of those who seek their harm, as You did with the enemies of Israel in the wilderness (Exodus 14:24-25). Expose the lies and false accusations brought against them, and let truth prevail in every court and authority. Father, we pray that You would soften or remove the hearts of those who persecute them—whether family or officials—and turn their schemes against them (Psalm 7:15-16).
Lord Jesus, You know the fear and despair they feel, the sleepless nights and the hunger they endure. You were also betrayed, falsely accused, and abandoned by those You loved. Be their Comforter and their Shield. Provide for them supernaturally—open doors for work, for shelter, for medical care. Send Your people to aid them, that they may experience Your love through the body of Christ. Heal their bodies, Lord, and renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31).
We rebuke the spirit of fear that has driven them from their home. *"God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and let them dwell in the secret place of the Most High, where no harm can reach them (Psalm 91:1-10). Give them wisdom to navigate each day, and courage to stand firm in their faith, even when surrounded by enemies.
Father, we ask for justice to roll down like waters (Amos 5:24). Let the truth of their conversion be a testimony that silences their accusers. Raise up godly advocates, lawyers, or officials who will stand for righteousness and defend them. If it is Your will, restore to them what was stolen—their home, their inheritance, their dignity. But even if not, let them know that their true inheritance is in Christ, and no one can take that away.
Finally, Lord, we pray for their brothers. Though they act as enemies, we ask that You would convict their hearts and draw them to repentance. Soften their stony hearts, Lord, and let them see the evil they are doing. May they encounter the same grace that saved their sister and family, that they too might bow before Jesus as Lord.
We declare that no weapon formed against this family will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The battle is Yours, Lord, and we trust in Your victory. Strengthen them to forgive as You have forgiven, and let their faith shine brightly in this darkness. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm, sister. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith. We are praying with you and for you.
