Disciple of Prayer
Can you please pray for my girlfriend ### She is caught up with a "bible study" that is educational arm of a Korean Cult that brings people through "study" then into the cult They employ deception and coercion Please pray for spiritual protection for both of us As well as for getting her out of there And physical and emotional protection for both of us and wisdom for me to handle conversations with sensitivity Thank you ###

We join you in bringing this urgent burden before the Lord together in Jesus' name and we thank you for trusting us to pray with you for both of you.

We hear your concern for your girlfriend who has become entangled in what you describe as a deceptive Bible study that is an educational arm of a Korean cult. We take this very seriously, for the Word warns us plainly about such deception. Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1 We are also told, Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. Matthew 7:15 and Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elements of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2:8 Even Satan masquerades as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14 So we rebuke the spirit of deception, coercion and control that is at work in this group, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 This is spiritual warfare and it requires spiritual protection, discernment and the truth of Scripture.

We also want to speak to your relationship with love and biblical clarity. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as God designed it, and we view a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship as courtship with the goal of discerning marriage to another Christian believer. We encourage you to pursue this relationship in purity and with that holy purpose in mind, for Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 and Marriage should be honored by all, and the bed undefiled. Hebrews 13:4 If you are living in sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we urge you to repent and flee from fornication, for that would grieve the Holy Spirit and cloud discernment. We pray that if it is God’s will, your courtship would lead toward a Christ centered marriage that honors Him, and that both of you would be firmly rooted in the true gospel and in a faithful Bible believing local church where the Word is rightly handled.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already, we encourage both of you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10 It is the truth of Jesus that sets us free, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. John 8:32 and that truth is revealed in Scripture alone.

For wisdom in your conversations with her, we pray you will be guided by grace and truth. We encourage you to ask God continually for wisdom, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. James 1:5 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Colossians 4:6 and speak the truth in love. Ephesians 4:15 The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient, in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth, and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will. 2 Timothy 2:24-26 Do not argue harshly or coerce in return, but ask thoughtful questions, compare every teaching to Scripture like the Bereans who examined the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Acts 17:11 Keep notes, stay calm, and involve a trusted pastor or mature believer for counsel and support. Pray and fast for her eyes to be opened.

We now pray together for you both.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior. We lift up this brother and his girlfriend to Your throne of grace. We ask for Your spiritual protection over both of them, that You would put a hedge around them and cover them with Your wings. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:1-2 Put on them the full armor of God that they may stand against the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:11

Lord, we ask You to expose every lie, every hidden deception and every coercive tactic of this cult. Shine Your light into darkness and let no deceit remain hidden. Open her eyes to see the manipulation and give her a love for Your true Word that she may test all things and hold fast to what is good. We pray for her deliverance, that You would lead her out of that snare and into the freedom of Christ, and that she would come to know or return to the true gospel of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus alone.

We pray for physical and emotional protection for both of them. Guard their minds from fear, confusion, guilt and anxiety, and guard their bodies from any harm or retaliation. Cast all their anxiety on You because You care for them. 1 Peter 5:7 Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

Father, grant this brother abundant wisdom, discernment, patience and sensitivity. Fill his mouth with gracious words and his heart with Christlike love, so that he may speak truth without harshness and show steadfast love without compromising truth. Help him to be a faithful witness, to listen well, to pray without ceasing, and to trust Your timing. Strengthen his own faith as he studies Your Word daily and walks closely with You and with other believers who can support him.

We pray for their courtship, that You would purify it, guide it, and align it with Your will. If it is Your will, lead them toward a godly marriage that glorifies You, rooted in shared faith, purity and commitment. Establish their steps and let Your will be done in their lives.

We thank You that You hear our prayers when we ask in Jesus’ name. We trust You to act in power and mercy to protect, to deliver, and to restore. We give You all glory and we wait expectantly for Your answer. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

We hear how heavy this is for you, caring for ### while also trying to stay steady yourself. Watching someone you love get drawn in gradually through a study that feels trustworthy at first is disorienting, and wanting to protect her without pushing her away takes a lot of wisdom and patience.

Groups that use deception often build trust slowly before more control appears, so confusion and pressure are common. That is why direct debate can sometimes close a person off rather than open a door. Staying a calm, safe, loving presence often keeps the conversation possible longer than trying to win the argument.

A couple of thoughts that may help you as you keep praying:

Keep the relationship warm and open. Listen well and ask gentle, honest questions about what she is learning and how she is feeling, rather than labeling the group outright. When she feels safe to talk with you without fear of judgment, she is more likely to share doubts if they come.

Get support for yourself too. Talk confidentially with a trusted pastor or mature believer who understands coercive groups, and look to a reputable, biblically grounded resource on cult dynamics so you can better recognize manipulation without carrying this alone. Keep private notes if needed, and keep healthy boundaries for your own physical and emotional wellbeing.

We are praying with you.

Father, we lift ### and ### to You and ask for Your protection over their hearts, minds and bodies. Bring clarity where there is confusion, guard them from harm and coercion, and give ### wisdom, patience and gentle words in each conversation. Lead them to wise help and make a way for truth to be seen clearly. Surround them both with Your peace and guidance. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your burden has been heard and taken to the throne of grace, and we join you in earnest prayer to the God who alone can deliver.

There are deceivers who handle the word of God deceitfully and draw away the simple with fair speeches and subtle study, but deliverance is of the Lord. As it is written, He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. That deliverance is not by the will of man nor by the cunning of man, but by the ransom which God Himself has found and provided in the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation. No other name is given among men whereby we must be saved, and no other study can open blind eyes but the Spirit of truth working through the true and faithful word.

We pray for this young woman, that the Lord in infinite wisdom and compassion would open her eyes to see the deception and coercion that has entangled her, that He would break the snare and bring her forth out of that darkness into His marvelous light. We ask that He would set a guard about her mind and heart, that He would not suffer the enemy to harden her against the truth, but would give her a love for the truth as it is in Jesus, and courage to step away from those who use secrecy and pressure to control. We pray for her complete spiritual, emotional and physical protection, and that the Lord would surround her with faithful witnesses who speak the truth in love.

We pray also for you, that the Lord would keep you under the shadow of His wing and preserve you in spirit, soul and body. We ask that He would grant you that heavenly wisdom which is pure and peaceable, gentle and easy to be entreated, that you may know how to speak a word in season. Speak the truth with meekness and fear, with patience and with tears, not striving in harshness but in love, for a brother or sister taken captive is not won by contention but by the grace of God making the word effectual. Seek counsel and stand not alone, but walk with a faithful pastor and mature believers in your local church who can help you test every teaching by Scripture, mark the ways of this error, and bear this burden with you in prayer and watchfulness.

We encourage you both to walk before the Lord in holiness. If you would seek the Lord's blessing upon your lives, pursue purity as He commands, reserving what belongs to the marriage covenant for that lifelong covenant of one man and one woman alone, and seek His will whether He would lead you toward such a holy union in Christ or otherwise. In all things let Christ be first and His word be your lamp.

May the Lord grant you both protection from the archers of discord and deceit, and make your deliverance effectual. He who brought Israel forth with silver and gold, and who found a ransom for sinners going down to the pit, is able to bring forth this dear soul also. Rest your soul upon Him, for the clock of mercy strikes according to His eternal purpose, and He will come to the deliverance of those who trust Him.

We pray, O Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our only Redeemer, deliver this daughter from the power of darkness, hedge her about and keep her from harm, heal what has been wounded in heart and mind, and grant to this brother wisdom, tenderness, steadiness and protection as he seeks to speak and to love faithfully. Let both be kept from evil, grounded in the true gospel, and kept in Thy peace. And when Thou hast delivered, grant that you shall both live and declare the works of the Lord, to the praise of His free grace. Amen.

Your request has been heard and brought before the Lord with care, and I join you in prayer for this heavy burden.

There is a wisdom that is from God and a wisdom that only has the appearance of wisdom. Scripture warns that some teachings have a show of wisdom in their humility and severity and devotion, but they have no true power against the flesh and they do not lead to life. The true wisdom was hidden but has now been revealed in Christ, who was made unto us wisdom from God. That wisdom does not come through secret studies or deceptive methods or coercion, but through the open proclamation of Christ crucified, through repentance and faith in Him alone for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Spirit. What is being presented to her may look like deep Bible knowledge, yet if it does not confess that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, by His cross and resurrection, it is not the wisdom from above. It is the wisdom of this world which is coming to nothing.

So we pray for spiritual protection for both of you. We ask God in His great mercy to open eyes, to expose deception, to guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and to grant deliverance from every snare. We ask Him to give you both remission of sins through His blood, adoption as sons and daughters, and the indwelling of His Spirit, for these are the true riches He has promised to those who turn to Him. We pray for physical and emotional protection as well, that the Lord would set a guard around you, grant peace where there is turmoil, and strengthen you against fear, pressure, and manipulation.

We also pray for her release. God is able to make those who seem held fast to see the light, and He often does this not by force but by patiently revealing His truth. Pray that the Lord would bring faithful witnesses around her, sound teaching from the Scriptures rightly handled, and a clear view of the deception being used, so that she may come to her senses and escape.

For you, we ask God for wisdom that is true prudence, the wisdom that knows what to say and when to be silent. Speak the truth in love, with gentleness and respect, not with harsh argument. Listen well, ask honest questions about what is being taught and how it compares to the plain teaching of Scripture, and keep pointing to Christ Himself rather than only attacking the group. Stay rooted in the Scriptures daily, remain under the care of a faithful local church and mature pastors who can counsel you face to face, and do not try to carry this alone. Keep records of what is taught if needed, set clear boundaries to protect your own soul, and persevere in prayer even when progress seems slow. God honors patient, loving persistence that is grounded in truth.

I also urge you to honor God with your own lives in this season. If you are in a dating relationship, commit yourselves to purity and to self control, keeping sex and living together within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman as God designed it. This is for your good and for your witness. Seek to be above reproach, that your words may have weight, and if you desire a future together, pursue it in a way that is holy, accountable to your church family, and centered on Christ.

Let us pray together:

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come to You for mercy. You know this young woman by name and You see the confusion and pressure surrounding her. Shine Your light into darkness, expose what is false, break the power of deception and coercion, and draw her into the true knowledge of Your Son. Protect both of these souls spiritually, physically and emotionally. Guard their hearts, grant them discernment, and fill them with Your Spirit. Give this brother wisdom, sensitivity, courage and patience as he speaks, that his words may be seasoned with grace and truth. Lead them both to a faithful fellowship where Your Word is taught plainly, and bring deliverance that only You can give. We ask for salvation, for protection, and for Your will to be done, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Continue in prayer, continue in the Scriptures, and continue to seek wise counsel close to you. The Lord who has promised numberless good things to those who do what is right will not fail to hear those who call upon Him in truth.
