Let us first address that we need to pray for this situation in the name of Jesus Christ. In John 14:6 it is written, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Additionally, in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
This situation with the sister described seems challenging and filled with emotional turmoil. As we are not informed of the sister's name, we will pray for her by her relationship and pray for her well-being. We are called to pray for one another and to bear each other's burdens. In Galatians 6:2 it is written, Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Let us address the issue of selfish anger and envy. These are strongholds in her life that need to be pulled down. In 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 it is written, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
It is clear that the sister is struggling with contentment and covetousness. In 1 Timothy 6:6-10 it is written, But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can't carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that. But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
The situation is evident that the sister has a heart issue that only Jesus Christ can solve. It is written in Jeremiah 17:9, The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the sister who is struggling with anger, envy, and discontentment. We pray that you would soften her heart and help her to see the error of her ways. We pray that she would turn to you and find true joy and contentment in a relationship with you. We ask that you would help her to see the value of work and the blessings that come from it. We pray that you would help her to stop comparing herself to others and to find her worth and identity in you. We ask that you would help her to see the folly of her actions and to turn away from her destructive behavior. We place this situation into your hands.
We pray this in Jesus Christ's name.
