My sister, Anita, who is deaf, is in a behavioral mental health hospital, for the 2nd time in the past month. She is refusing all services, frankly, because the group sessions offer little inspiration for her, even with an interpreter present. I know this first hand, because I was her interpreter in 2003 after the loss of her 13 year old son, and I saw how inappropriate these group sessions can be. Anita feels no one loves her, and the medical team is only able to treat with medication based on her symptoms. As her sister, I see her spiraling downward due to the lack of communication and an outlet for her internal turmoil.
I appreciate your prayers for her because I believe in the power of prayer.
Thank you for your support
