There is spiritual resistance to earning daily bread in the last days -- just look at the amount of finance / job / business / house sale / rent needed / school money needed prayer requests on prayer sites! Labor after the fall is "by the sweat of your brow" but that it can be better after redemption by "working as unto the Lord" and "stewarding" the money we earn by the gift of God's provision, usually, through the ages -- this has been work.
We are commanded to tithe to further the Kingdom and that is actually before our other obligations... Tithing, by the way, was instituted by Abraham before the Law in his tithing to Melchizedek, "And praise be to God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand." Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything" (Gen 14:20; see also the same act of gratitude referenced in the New Testament, Hebrews 7:4).
Work has always been hard. It's actually one of it's definitions -- "boy, that was a lot of work" -- for example. Thank you for your prayers and encouragements -- Let us please pray and encourage each other to work and pray for all that has to happen to bring God into our workplace and "not that we are taken out of the world, but delivered from the evil one" (John 17:15).
May God the Father bless our jobs and help unemployed believers to find secure jobs, work hard and request prayer. May believers have the understanding and compassion to pray for them, since our work, as we work unto the Lord, is holy, since much of our lives is comprised of this one activity alone. Thank you in Jesus' Name.
