Winter and How to Meet It
Winter brings heightened temptation, so guard your evenings and choose paths that strengthen rather than destroy.
The Eternal Truth of God
God remains perfectly faithful in all He says and does, so you can trust Him completely in every circumstance.
Your concern for open access to the shoreline and for the people who live near it is understandable, and it is good that you have brought it to the Lord in prayer.

Scripture reminds us that through Jesus Christ we have been welcomed by God and given a way to come to Him directly. The barrier that once kept people out has been removed at the cross, so we are invited to come with confidence and boldness to His throne of grace, not through another mediator, but by faith in Jesus Himself. That is the confidence we have as we pray for this need.

The desire you express is at its heart a desire for fairness and equity. God is a God of righteousness and justice, and He desires that justice and fairness prevail among people. He calls His people to do what is right, to live honestly and to treat others without favoritism, with one standard for all. When the Scriptures describe a time when truth had fallen in the streets and justice stood far off, it shows how deeply God notices when courts and systems do not provide the fairness they should. Many people today share that same disappointment, sensing that where judgment should be found, it is often lacking, and that those with wealth or influence can find advantages that others cannot. It should not be that way, but it is a reality in a fallen world, and when the foundations of justice are weakened, the whole community feels it.

It is right to pray for justice in a situation like this, and at the same time Scripture teaches us to be humble about ourselves. For ourselves we most often ask for mercy, because we know we need God's kindness and forgiveness through Jesus, not what we deserve. For the needs of a community and for those who make laws and decisions, we can ask God to move hearts toward what is right and fair.

It is also comforting to remember how constantly God thinks of you. As countless as the grains of sand on a beach, so are His thoughts toward His people, and His thoughts are good and not evil. He sees the island you love, the people who live there, and the pressures that come with development and changing laws.

God does not always bring about justice quickly. He is patient and long suffering, which some may mistake for indifference, but His justice will come in His time. In the end there is a true justice that will prevail, though the wheels of justice may seem to grind slowly.

So we can pray that the Lord would guide those who have authority to act with wisdom and fairness, that laws would be applied without favoritism, and that ordinary families would not be cut off from the natural beauty around them. We can pray that whatever development takes place would be done honestly and with care for the local community, and that the beaches would remain a blessing for both residents and visitors in the coming year and in the years ahead. And we can continue to do what God asks of each of us, to keep judgment and do justice in our own lives, to live fairly and honestly where He has placed us, trusting that the blessed life is the one that seeks to do what is right.

May the Lord give you peace as you keep bringing this before Him, knowing you have access to Him through Jesus, and may He work in a way that shows His goodness and His care for justice and mercy.
