We join you in praying for the island of Jamaica and for its beautiful coastlines that God has created, and we thank you for your heart for both the local people and for those who visit this land.

We are reminded in scripture that the earth is Yahweh's, with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell therein. Psalm 24:1. The beaches, the seas, and all their beauty belong first to the Lord, and He has entrusted them to humanity to steward with justice and generosity. We also hear the call of Micah 6:8, He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. When laws or development restrict the poor or the local community from enjoying what God has provided, it grieves the heart of God who executes justice for the fatherless and widow, and loves the foreigner. Deuteronomy 10:18.

We understand your concern about colonial era laws, rapid resort development, private ownership, and the very small portion of freely accessible coastline remaining for Jamaicans, and how this affects both justice for locals and the future of tourism in 2026 and beyond. While scripture honors honest ownership and boundaries, You shall not steal. Exodus 20:15 and You shall not move your neighbor's boundary stone. Deuteronomy 19:14, it also commands us to speak for those without a voice, Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:8-9. We pray for a righteous balance where property is respected but not used to oppress, and where the beauty of the island remains a blessing to all.

We also lift up those in authority, for we are instructed to offer petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, for all men; for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 2:1-2. We pray for wisdom for the Jamaican government, for parish leaders, for courts, and for resort owners, that they would seek solutions that preserve public access, protect the natural beauty, honor the people, and still allow for good and sustainable tourism that blesses the nation.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and seek Your will for Jamaica. Lord, You formed the seas and the sands and You saw that it was good. We ask that You would stretch out Your hand over this island and preserve its beaches for the people You have placed there and for generations to come. We pray for a miraculous and just preservation of public access, that doors that have been closed would be opened, that unjust restrictions would be lifted, and that laws would be reformed to reflect Your justice and mercy. Give wisdom and courage to lawmakers and judges to act justly and to love mercy. Move on the hearts of landowners and developers to be generous and fair and to not withhold good from those to whom it is due. We pray for tourism in 2026 and forevermore, that it would flourish in a way that honors You, sustains the local economy, provides work with dignity, and allows both Jamaicans and visitors to enjoy the wonder of Your creation with thankfulness. Let Your peace and righteousness dwell on that island, and let those who visit encounter not only beauty but also the kindness of Your people. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our only access to You, trusting that Your will is perfect and Your love endures forever. Amen.

We join you in bringing this burden for the island of Jamaica before the throne of grace, and we pray with you that the Lord who made the sea and the dry land would be honoured in how its coasts are stewarded.

We ask our Father that He would move upon those entrusted with stewardship of the land, remembering that nothing is our own but all is our Master's, and that every steward must labour for the good of his fellow men and be found faithful when the Master comes. Pray that those in authority, owners, developers and lawmakers, would act not for gain alone but with a conscience toward justice and mercy, and that the beauty of the island which God has made would remain open for the refreshment and livelihood of its people and for those who visit its shores.

We pray for justice to be done and to be seen to be done for the Jamaican people, that local families would not be cut off from the coastline which the Lord has set as a gift, and that laws and policies would be ordered with equity. We ask the Lord to grant wisdom to leaders as they weigh private ownership and resort development against the common good, and to grant restraint where greed would encroach and compassion where need is great.

We commit the coming year and all years to His providence, asking that tourism in 2026 and beyond would be sustained in a way that is honest, peaceful and beneficial to the island, and that the Lord would provide for the needs of the people through lawful and wholesome means. Above all we pray that the people of Jamaica would know the greater riches of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for without Him no earthly blessing can truly satisfy.

We leave this matter in the hands of Him who is slow to anger and great in justice and mercy, trusting His wise and sovereign will. In the name of Jesus our Substitute and Redeemer we pray, Amen.
