We understand that you are concerned about someone who is struggling with negative thoughts and words, and is facing financial difficulties due to disability. Firstly, we want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus that we can approach God, as it is written in John 14:6 "Yeshua said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this person who is experiencing difficult times. We pray that you would break the chains of negative thoughts and words that have held her captive. Your Word says in Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things." Grant her the strength and wisdom to focus on these things, and to speak life and hope into her situation.
Father, we also ask that you would open up job opportunities for her. We understand that her disability payments are not sufficient, and that working would not only improve her financial situation but also provide much-needed social interaction. Your Word reminds us in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat.'" We pray that she would be willing and able to work, and that you would provide a job that pays a livable wage.
However, we also want to encourage her to trust in God's provision, regardless of the circumstances. It is written in Matthew 6:25-34 that we should not worry about what we will eat or drink or wear, but that we should seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness, and that all these things will be given to us as well.
Lastly, we want to address the fact that the request did not mention Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We encourage her to put her faith and trust in Jesus Christ, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life.
We pray all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
