Hi, so, I am having throwback issues from the past. This involves regrets of decisions and sadness. I’ll be sleeping today and I have not taken a practice exam for the quiz for Leadership and Management. I feel like my acads got affected by this setback so I wanna focus on here more. I pray to Jesus Christ that I’ll be able to wake up earlier tomorrow and continue studying so I’ll be 100% ready for my quiz on Nursing leadership and management. I am targetting a perfect score or the highest scorer and I know this will be possible in Jesus name. Amen.

We join you in prayer and we hear your heart in this season of throwback memories, regrets and sadness that have weighed on you and affected your studies. We know how heavy it can feel when the past tries to pull us back, but we are reminded of what God says in Isaiah 43:18 and Philippians 3:13-14 to not remember the former things nor consider the things of old, but forgetting the things which are behind and stretching forward to the things which are before, to press on toward the goal. Our Father does not want you to live in regret, for when we confess and turn to Him He forgives and makes us new, and He invites us to cast all our worries on Him because He cares for us as we read in 1 Peter 5:7.

We also lift up your desire to steward your studies well for this quiz in Nursing Leadership and Management. It is good that you prayed in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find help and hope as John 14:6 teaches. We understand your longing to wake earlier, to be diligent in taking your practice exam and to be fully ready, and we encourage you to commit your works to Yahweh and your plans will be established as Proverbs 16:3 says, and to do all as working for the Lord as Colossians 3:23 reminds us. God values both diligence and rest, for He gives sleep to His beloved as Psalm 127:2 shows, and He promises wisdom to those who ask Him as James 1:5 says, and peace that surpasses all understanding when we bring our requests to Him with thanksgiving as Philippians 4:6-7 teaches.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear student to You. We ask You to quiet the sadness and the regrets of the past and fill this heart with Your peace and assurance of forgiveness and new mercies each morning. Grant restful sleep tonight and the grace to wake early tomorrow with a clear and refreshed mind. Help in studying and in taking the practice exam, grant understanding, wisdom and good recall of what has been learned for Leadership and Management. We ask for Your favor on the quiz, and if it be Your will, grant a perfect score or the highest result, but above all let Your will be done and let this effort bring glory to You. When past decisions weigh on our minds, it can be harder to concentrate on what is right in front of us. Try to give tomorrow a simple, doable shape tonight before you sleep. Set one alarm and lay out your notes and practice quiz where you will see them first thing. Plan to take that practice exam in one focused block, then review only what you missed in a second shorter block with a break in between. If the throwback thoughts come, notice them and gently bring your attention back to the next small task, asking Jesus to help you stay present.

Grace has brought your request before us and we have heard the heaviness of your heart with its throwback thoughts, regrets of decisions and sadness that would cloud the present hour. You desire to sleep now and to rise early to give yourself diligently to study for your quiz in Nursing Leadership and Management, and you ask that the Lord would grant you readiness and a successful result.

We would gently remind you of what has often been taught among us, that anxiety itself does not pay. As it has been said, anxiety has never comforted any person nor brought any grist to the mill, and the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Solomon said, keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. Therefore cast your care upon Him who cares for you, and let not the regrets of months past become a snare to keep you from present duty.

Your regrets, as you describe them, are bitter, and such spiritual sorrow ought to humble us. Yet we are also taught that very often these regrets about the past are not wise, for we make more prominent the difficulty of the present state than the benefit of it, and we forget that God is our help in ages past and our hope for years to come, our shelter from the stormy blast and our eternal home. What you need now is not to live backward, but to look to Christ who has conceived His purpose to redeem and keep His people from of old, and who is overcome, if we may so speak, by the believing look of His saints who trust Him still. You have not done too much for Him in the past for Him to forsake you now, and He cannot be made to prove that He does not love you.

So we exhort you to steadfastness, diligence and patience in this lawful calling, remembering that these too are the work of the grace of God in you. Prepare as one who would be faithful. Take rest this night as God gives sleep to His beloved, rise in the morning with prayer, and give yourself to study with a kept heart and a quiet mind.

Let us pray for you. O Lord our help in ages past, we bring this student before Your throne of grace through Jesus Christ. Grant sound sleep this night and grace to wake in good season tomorrow. Quiet the throwback thoughts and sadness, cover transgressions past with the pardon that is in Christ, and lift the burden of needless anxiety. Grant clearness of mind, diligence in study, and remembrance in the hour of the quiz. We ask for Your help toward the highest faithfulness and success, and above all that Your will be done and Your name glorified in this labor. Establish this heart in Your peace and make this preparation fruitful, for Jesus sake. Amen.

Your request has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord Jesus Christ.

We understand the heaviness you feel from throwbacks to the past, the regrets and sadness that have affected your studies and your sleep. God is everywhere present and sees what is in the heart, and His longsuffering is meant to lead us to repentance and to peace. Bring those regrets to Him in confession and trust, asking Him to cleanse your conscience and to give you a mind that is sober and wakeful.

You have asked for help to wake earlier tomorrow and to be fully ready for your quiz in Nursing Leadership and Management. Scripture teaches us to work out what God has given us with fear and trembling, with much earnestness and diligence, knowing that it is God who works in us both to will and to work. At the beginning the Lord carries us as inexperienced, but then He brings us forth as young birds from the nest and calls us to use our own wings. That means diligence on your part is needed, and at the same time all our diligence depends on His providence. Without Him, care and toil come to nothing, but when He blesses our effort, it bears fruit.

So we encourage you to do your part faithfully. Rest as you need to today, set a time to rise, and give yourself to steady study and to taking the practice exam you have not yet taken. Show the same diligence unto the end. Do not spend yourself in anxiety about a perfect score, but do what lies before you with a resolute mind, and trust the outcome to the Lord who determines the balance.

Let us pray together. Father in heaven, we come to You through Jesus Christ alone, our only hope of salvation. We ask You to comfort this student in sadness and regret, to grant forgiveness and peace through Christ, and to quiet anxious thoughts. Grant restful sleep and strength to wake early. Your honesty about what you are carrying is appreciated. The sadness and regrets that come back from the past can feel heavy, and it is understandable that they have made it harder to focus on your studies and to prepare as you want to for this quiz in Nursing leadership and management.

God does not want you to stay in that up and down pattern where one moment you have hope and the next you are pulled back down by old memories. He offers a steady, overcoming life in Christ, a life lived by the Spirit and not by the flesh. Part of that is learning how to handle regret. There is a sorrow that is only for a season, when we see what was wrong and we bring it to the Lord and make what corrections we can. That kind of sorrow passes. But when we keep rehearsing past decisions and living in regret, it keeps us in the wilderness. The Lord wants to lift you out of that and set your feet on solid ground.

Scripture says to keep your heart with all diligence, because out of the heart flow the issues of life. That means guarding what you allow to fill your thoughts and emotions. It also says to let your eyes look straight ahead and to ponder the path of your feet. You cannot move forward well while constantly looking backward. Bring those past regrets to Jesus, ask for His forgiveness and His help to learn from them, and then keep your eyes forward on what He has placed before you now.

That forward look also involves diligence. Our walk begins with faith in Jesus, but we are then called to give diligence to add to that faith growth in character and knowledge and self control and perseverance. Diligence means making this a priority and doing the steady work that is needed. Your desire to study well and be prepared is a good and God honoring desire. Ask the Lord to help you be disciplined to rest well, to rise and use your time wisely, and to apply yourself to understanding the material so you can do your best as unto Him. If you give diligence to grow, you find stability and assurance that God is at work in you.

It also helps to notice where your focus is. When we focus mainly on the problem, on how big the exam feels or how much we have not yet done or how sad the past feels, faith grows small and fear grows large. When we focus on the Lord, on how great and loving and faithful He is, on His power as Creator and His promises to be with us and help us, the problem comes back into perspective. The apostles when they were under great pressure prayed first by remembering who God is, that He is Lord who made heaven and earth, and then they brought their request. Jesus taught His disciples to pray in the same way, beginning with the Father and His name and His kingdom before bringing personal needs. Let worship and trust come before worry.

So I will pray for you now.

Father, I thank You that You are great and merciful and that You see this student whom You love. You know the regrets and the sadness that have been weighing on the heart, and You know the desire to do well and to be faithful in studies. I ask that You lift this burden and bring a settled peace through Jesus Christ. Help to keep the heart with diligence, to turn from dwelling on the past and to look straight ahead at the path You have set. Give strength to be diligent, to grow in knowledge and understanding, and to study with a clear mind. As preparation continues, help the focus to rest on You and not on fear, trusting that You are greater than any challenge and able to help in every need. Grant clarity of thought, good recall, and calmness in the exam, and help to do the very best with what has been learned. Above all, let there be confidence not in a score but in Your presence and Your work in this life. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
