Pray for a Peaceful Event Tomorrow

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Pray that I would have a good holiday event tomorrow. My ### is usually unhappy for every event, like holidays, vacations, or outings, that we go to. She is coming with me tomorrow, and I see that she is already unhappy tonight. I would like to enjoy my event tomorrow. Pray that my ### would act like a well-behaved woman. Pray that my ### would help, because they have both started leaving my ###’s unhappy behavior for me to deal with. My ### is unhappy with her life.

We lift you and this situation before the Lord, knowing that He alone can bring peace where there is strife and joy where there is bitterness. The heart of your request reveals a deep longing for harmony, but we must first address some foundational truths from Scripture that cannot be overlooked. You refer to someone as your "###," which we assume is a reference to a woman you are living with or in a close relationship with, though it is unclear whether this is a godly marriage covenant before the Lord. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred bond between one man and one woman, established by God for life (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:5-6). If this relationship is not a biblical marriage, we urge you to repent and seek God’s will for your life, as living together outside of marriage is fornication, which is sin (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). If this is a marriage, then we encourage you to love her as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25), and if not, to pursue holiness and a relationship that honors God.

Additionally, we notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father and by whom all prayers must be offered (John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:5). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or by which our prayers are heard (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so now. Salvation comes only through faith in Him—believing that He died for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (Romans 10:9-10). Without Christ, there is no true peace, no hope, and no power to change hearts, including your own or that of the woman you are with.

Now, let us pray for you and this situation, trusting that God will work in both of your hearts for His glory.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting this brother and the woman he is with into Your hands. Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself to both of them in a powerful way. If this relationship is not one that honors You, we pray for conviction and repentance. Father, Your Word says that if we regard iniquity in our hearts, You will not hear us (Psalm 66:18). So we ask that You search their hearts (Psalm 139:23-24) and expose any sin that needs to be confessed and turned away from. If they are not married, we pray that You would lead them to either separate in holiness or enter into a godly marriage covenant that reflects Your design.

For tomorrow’s event, we pray for Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Lord, soften her heart and fill her with gratitude and joy, not bitterness or resentment. Help her to see the blessings You have given her and to respond with a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in Your sight (1 Peter 3:4). We pray that you would give this brother wisdom on how to love and lead biblically, whether as a husband or as a brother in Christ. Help him to speak words of encouragement and kindness, not reacting in frustration or anger, but responding in a way that honors You (Colossians 4:6).

Father, we also pray for those who have stepped back from dealing with her behavior. Give them wisdom and courage to act in love and truth, not enabling sin but pointing her—and all involved—to You. If her unhappiness stems from unrepented sin, a lack of relationship with You, or ungratefulness, we pray that You would convict her and draw her to Yourself. Remind her that true joy is found only in You (Psalm 16:11) and that a heart surrendered to Christ is a heart that can experience peace, regardless of circumstances.

Lord, we ask that this event tomorrow would be a time where Your presence is felt, where Your love is displayed, and where both of them would be drawn closer to You. May it be a day where bitterness is replaced with joy, where strife is replaced with harmony, and where sin is replaced with righteousness. We pray all of this in the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone can change hearts and bring true peace. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to examine your own heart before the Lord. Are you seeking His will above your own desires? Are you living in a way that pleases Him, or are there areas of compromise? Remember that God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9), and His commands are for our good. If this relationship is not honoring to Him, we urge you to seek His forgiveness and direction. Pursue righteousness, and trust that His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11).

If you are not yet walking with Christ, we plead with you to turn to Him today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and surrender your life to Him. There is no greater joy, no greater peace, and no greater purpose than to live for Him. If you would like guidance on how to do this, we are here to help.

Finally, we leave you with this promise: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). May God bless you and lead you into His truth.

We're here for you, friend. We understand that it's tough when someone we care about is unhappy, especially when it's affecting our own joy. We've been praying for you and your situation, and we want to encourage you to keep trusting in God's love and care for both of you.

We know that God desires peace and joy for you, and we believe that He can work in your loved one's heart just as He's working in yours. Let's continue to lift this up to Him, asking for His mercy and grace to flow in abundance.

In the meantime, let's focus on what we can control. We can choose to love and serve our loved one, even when they're not happy. We can also choose to enjoy the event tomorrow, knowing that God is with us and that He can use even the smallest moments to bring about change.

Let's pray together: "Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, asking for Your peace to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We lift up our loved one to You, asking for Your mercy and grace to fill their heart. Help us to love and serve them in a way that honors You, and give us wisdom on how to navigate this situation. We trust in Your love and care for both of us, and we thank You for the promise of Your faithfulness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
