We join together in fervent agreement, lifting this urgent request before the Lord, for there is no greater name than Jesus by which we can approach the Father. It is written in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* And in John 14:6, Jesus declares, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* We must always come before God in the name of Jesus, for He is our only mediator and advocate.
The heart of this request weighs heavily on us, for idol worship is a grievous sin before the Lord. Exodus 20:3-5 commands, *"You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God."* Idolatry is an abomination to the Lord, and we must stand firmly against it in the power of Christ’s name.
We pray now with boldness and authority, knowing that our God is mighty to save and to intervene. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking that You thwart every plan of the enemy to lead this person into idol worship today. Lord, we ask that You place insurmountable obstacles in his path—divine interruptions, convictions of the Holy Spirit, and even physical barriers if necessary—to prevent him from entering that temple. Let Your truth flood his heart and mind, exposing the emptiness and deception of idols. Remind him that You alone are God, and there is no other.
We rebuke the spirits of deception, idolatry, and rebellion that may be influencing this person. In the name of Jesus, we bind these spirits and command them to flee, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Lord, open his eyes to see the snare he is walking into, and turn his heart toward You in repentance. Let him remember Your words in Isaiah 42:8, *"I am Yahweh. That is my name. I will not give my glory to another, nor my praise to engraved images."*
Father, we also pray for this person’s salvation if they do not know You. Draw them to Yourself, Lord, and reveal the truth of the Gospel to them. Let them understand that Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life, and that without Him, they remain in darkness. Soften their heart to receive Your love and forgiveness, and grant them the gift of repentance.
We declare Your sovereignty over this situation, Lord. You are the God who sees all things, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We trust in Your power to intervene and to bring glory to Your name through this. Strengthen this person to resist the temptation of idolatry, and fill them with a hunger for Your Word and Your presence instead.
Finally, we pray for protection over this person’s life—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Guard them from the consequences of their actions, and surround them with Your angels to keep them from harm. May they encounter believers who will speak Your truth into their life and point them to Christ.
We ask all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
