Praise to You Abba; I bless Your name Jehovah-Jireh; thank You for Daily Bread yet again; You increase my faith again!
You know what went through my mind?
That if we see the tree our late grandfather planted at our house split by lightning, and then prayed for it to be healed, and the next morning it was, then having faith would be easy because the sign was major.
If we saw the xrays of multiple huge tumors in a loved one indicating an imminent terminal disease, and then prayed for our loved one's healing, and the next day the new xrays showed all the tumors were gone, then having faith would be easy because the sign was major.
The signs for me, however, are less dramatic, but every bit as obviously divinely bestowed, for in my long season trial of destitution, now having ended I know, I have been blessed countless times with daily bread that has delivered me from heartache and grief and sadness and loss and shame.
Yesterday, despite the situation, I saw a minor sign that produced hope, just hope in its minor blessing (and the hope is that it could bloom into a larger blessing, and I beleive that will happen, but as to His will and time).
I still had the pending issue & circumstance nonetheless, and that was that I had (have) a bit of a food supply for myself, but I was completely tapped on cash and credit...and I was essentially out of dog food for my 16 year-old Shih Tzu.
Somehow I felt and just knew God was going to provide, perhaps in exceeding abundance now, maybe, or with just what I needed (which is about $12 to get the usual case of dog food to sustain my dog for a while).
I was joyful. I have stopped worrying because of all the other daily bread miracles. I just said with a smile and with faith that the needed provision is coming, and that I would in the meanwhile stretch the remainder of the last open can of dog food by sharing my chicken breasts with my dog the next day (today). You know, I let him try some regular Cheerios for breakfast, and he didn't get sick and he licked the bowl. It just made me smile.
So then I thought about how to prepare the defrosted chicken while multitasking...and then I got a text from a local stranger (turned out we even have a friend in common but we didn't know) who was responding to an ad I had on Craigslist for a small item that has been there and reposted again and again for what seems a very long while. All that time, it only had one minor previous inquiry.
And lo, the buyer was interested, showed up to mutual convenience about an hour later. We got along very well and enjoyed the encounter, and that not withstanding, he bought the item for the asking price of $15.
Thank You Lord Father; thank You Jesus! I look forward to buying a case of Pedigree very shortly.
And you know what else? I was asked to do a simple demo of the item just to show it was working and viable. The item builds up steam under pressure. After showing that it was very functional, I inadvertently opened a large port incorrectly and the steam released abundantly and directly around the back of my hand -- and while I felt the heat, it didn't hurt, it didn't burn, it didn't welt me, it didn't even make my skin turn red.
Ha! Alleluia! Praises! Amen
