MSC Prayers

Humble Servant of All
PLEASE PRAY FOR ME. I DON’T KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. LET’S SIMPLY SAY I’M IN A VERY CONFUSED STATE, AND I TRULY BELIEVE IT’S DUE TO MY LONG-TIME PHYSICAL/MENTAL DISABILITIES AND NO REAL OR ACTUAL PLAN IN EFFECT TO REDUCE OR RESOLVE MY CONDITIONS. I’M VIRTUALLY UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING ANYMORE. IT’S VERY FRUSTRATING AND QUITE DEMEANING. MAY GOD’S WILL BE DONE. I ASK THIS IN JESUS’ PRECIOUS AND HOLY NAME. AMEN.

We join you in prayer and we thank you for sharing your heart so honestly with us and for asking in Jesus' precious and holy name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we are heard.

We hear the weight of your confusion and frustration and the demeaning feeling of being virtually unable to do anything anymore due to long-time physical and mental disabilities. We want you to know that your worth is not measured by what you are able to do, but by who you are in Christ. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:14, and you are deeply loved and seen by God even in this season of struggle.

God is not the author of confusion, for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace, 1 Corinthians 14:33, and He draws especially near when we feel overwhelmed and broken. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18. When you feel confused and unable to find a plan, He invites you to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7, and to bring everything to Him in prayer. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.

We understand how frustrating it is to live without a real plan to reduce or resolve your conditions. We encourage you to not walk through this alone. God often provides His help through others, including wise doctors, counselors, pastors, and trusted believers who can help you seek a practical plan for care and daily support. Even when healing or relief feels slow, His grace remains sufficient. He has said, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness, 2 Corinthians 12:9. That does not mean your disabilities are not real or painful, but that His strength can uphold you even in weakness. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11, and we know that to those who love God all things work together for good, Romans 8:28, even when we cannot yet see how.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up our dear brother or sister to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the confusion, the physical and mental afflictions carried for so long, the frustration and the feeling of being unable to do anything. Lord, we ask for Your peace to guard this heart and mind, for clarity where there is confusion, and for Your perfect will to be done. Touch this life with Your healing hand according to Your mercy, and where healing is a journey, provide endurance and hope. Give wisdom to any doctors, counselors and helpers, and lead to the right people and to a real and effective plan to reduce and manage these conditions. Remind our friend that You are near and that when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I, Psalm 61:2. Strengthen faith to not fear, for You have said, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10. Let Your presence be felt and let Your will bring comfort, direction, and renewed purpose. We ask all this in the precious and holy name of Jesus, our Savior and hope, amen.

We hear how heavy and confusing this season has been for you, living with long term physical and mental limitations without a clear plan forward. Feeling unable to do what you once could, and feeling frustrated and even demeaned by that, is a very human response to a very hard situation. You are not forgotten in it.

We thank you for asking us to pray and for trusting God with His will even while you feel so unsettled. That honesty matters.

One small step that may help is to not carry this alone this week. Alongside prayer, consider reaching out to one trusted person who can help you think about next steps, whether that is your primary care provider or counselor to review what supports or resources might be available, or a pastor or faithful friend who can walk with you regularly. You do not need to have all the answers before you reach out, just a willingness to let someone come alongside you. If daily tasks feel overwhelming, letting that person know exactly where you feel most stuck can make it easier for them to help.

Father, we lift our brother to You. You see his confusion, his disabilities and the frustration he carries. Bring Your peace to his mind, Your presence to his lonely moments, and wise, caring people around him to support him. Give him strength for today and clear guidance for the next step. In Jesus precious and holy name we pray, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace. To be brought into a very confused state, to bear long continued infirmities of body and mind, and to feel virtually unable to do anything anymore, is a heavy affliction indeed. It is not strange that you should feel frustrated and low, for such weakness tries the strongest spirit and makes the soul feel as one drawing near to the gates of death, in terrible confusion and alarm.

Yet hear the comfort of the gospel. The Lord knows your frame, He remembers that you are dust, and He does not measure your worth by what you are able to do. When you are weak, then in Christ you may still be strong, for His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in weakness. What feels demeaning in the eyes of man is not so before God, who sees the heart that still cries, May Thy will be done, and who hears the prayer offered in the precious and holy name of Jesus.

We will pray for you, that the Lord in His mercy would grant you clarity in place of confusion, peace to guard your heart and mind, and wisdom for any physicians, ministers or friends who may help you find a wise and workable plan for your care. We ask that He would give you daily strength according to your day, that when your heart is overwhelmed He would lead you to the Rock that is higher than you, and that you would know more deeply that nothing can separate you from His love in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Cast your burden upon the Lord, for He careth for you. He who has kept you hitherto will not forsake you now. May the God of all comfort lift the cloud from your spirit, sustain you in this trial, and make even this season to work for your good and His glory, as you rest yourself wholly upon the finished work of Christ, through whom alone is salvation.

We commend you to His tender keeping and pray that His will, which is holy and good and wise, may be done in you and for you, and that you may have grace to rest therein.

O Lord, look in mercy upon this Thy tried child, compassed about with infirmity and confusion. Speak peace to the troubled mind, strengthen the weak body, and let Thy presence be felt as very near. Guide to right helpers, grant patience and hope, and keep this soul anchored upon Christ, our only hope. In Jesus precious and holy name we ask it, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
