Praise report

Thanks be to God. He has taken away what felt like a stone. Please pray for me as I am still feeling bitter towards my mother. I'm praying for her everyday. In Jesus high name.

We rejoice with you and give thanks to God with you for His mercy in taking away what felt like a stone from your heart. We praise Him for His goodness and for answering prayer, for He is faithful and His steadfast love endures forever. We thank God that you have come before Him in the high name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard.

We hear your honesty about still feeling bitter towards your mother even as you are praying for her every day, and we want to walk with you in this. Bitterness is a heavy burden that can take root if we do not bring it to the Lord, and scripture warns us about this. Hebrews 12:15 says to watch lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you and many be defiled by it. And Ephesians 4:31-32 tells us to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice, and be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

We encourage you to continue praying for your mother, and we also encourage you to ask the Lord to soften your own heart toward her. God calls us to honor our father and mother, as it is written in Exodus 20:12, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. This honor does not mean that hurt did not happen or that everything was right, but it means we choose with God's help to release resentment and to show the same forgiveness we have received. Colossians 3:13 reminds us to bear with one another and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. When we forgive, we are not excusing sin, we are entrusting justice to God and freeing our own hearts to be healed. Jesus taught in Matthew 6:14-15 that if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

We see God has already done a great work in removing that stone, and we believe He wants to continue that work. Ezekiel 36:26 gives us this promise, I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. What you have experienced is a testimony of this promise.

We pray together with you now. Father, we thank You together for Your mercy and for lifting this heavy stone from our dear sibling in Christ. We praise You for hearing prayer in the name of Jesus. Lord, we bring before You this lingering bitterness toward mother. We ask You to search this heart, to wash away resentment, and to fill it with Your tender mercy and compassion. Help us to forgive even as Christ forgave us, to release every hurt into Your hands, and to honor our mother as You command. Heal the wounds of the past, restore what has been broken, and let Your love flow between mother and child. Give strength to continue praying daily for her, and let Your will be done in both lives. Draw our sibling closer to You, keep this new heart soft and responsive to Your Spirit, and guard it from the root of bitterness. We ask all this together in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing this to the Lord honestly each day, to speak blessing over your mother as you pray, and if possible to show honor through kind words and actions as God leads you. Continue in the Word and let His forgiveness shape your heart, and we trust He will complete the healing He has begun.

We're so thankful you shared this praise with us, hearing that God has lifted what felt like a stone is encouraging, and we rejoice with you in that relief.

We also hear the honesty in what you said next, that bitterness toward your mother is still there even as you are praying for her every day. Wanting to do the right thing and still feeling the ache at the same time can be discouraging, but it is a common part of healing. Choosing to pray for her is a real and faithful decision, and often our emotions take longer to catch up to that decision.

Bitterness often grows where hurt and anger have not had time to be grieved, and where we are still hoping a relationship will give us something it hasn't been able to give. It can harden a soft heart if it is left alone, which is why your daily prayers matter so much. They keep your heart open before the Lord instead of letting those feelings settle in.

If it helps, when that bitter feeling rises in a specific moment, try simply naming it honestly to God in that moment, "I'm feeling bitter again, help me", and then continue with the prayer for your mother you are already faithfully praying. Over time that steady turning toward Him can gently loosen resentment's hold without you having to force the feelings away.

Father, thank You for lifting this burden and for the work You have already done. We ask You to keep softening and healing this dear one's heart, to give peace in place of bitterness, and to bless both them and their mother with Your grace and wisdom in the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

We give thanks to God with you that He has taken away what felt like a stone, for this is His own work. There is forgiveness with Him, and it is a divine forgiveness, surprising and complete. As it is written, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions, and He does not forgive and afterwards accuse, for His forgiveness is eternal. Where He draws no limit, we are not to draw any, for there is forgiveness, broad and full, to be obtained from God through Jesus Christ His Son.

We understand your burden, that though the stone is removed, bitterness toward your mother still remains, even as you pray for her daily. This is an honest confession, and we commend your faithfulness in prayer. Hear what the Word teaches concerning this bitterness. One effect of feeling the bitterness of our own sin against Christ is to take away all bitterness against our fellow men. If you have really felt the bitterness of your sin against Christ, you have said to yourself, after this I must be sweet, gentle, kind, tender and forgiving towards others. How much we offended God, and yet He says there is forgiveness, and He has forgiven us for Christ's sake, not only at the first but in a continuous manner.

Therefore study the pattern set before you, even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. The Lord Jesus came and pardoned us when that act of grace was unsolicited, before we had thought of mercy. He forgave us though we had nothing to pay with, the whole debt being nailed to the cross. Some of us have had so much manifest forgiveness, so much outward sin forgiven, that for us to forgive ought to be as natural as to open our hands. So we exhort you to copy that pattern in your forgiveness of those who have trespassed against you, and to honor your mother as the Lord commands, that it may go well with you.

We will pray for you.

Our gracious Father, we bless Thee for Thy mercy which has lifted the stony burden from this soul, and we pray that Thou wouldst now work a further work of grace within. Take away bitterness and give a tender and forgiving heart, even as Christ has forgiven. Teach this Thy child to believe in the forgiveness of sins for themselves, and to extend that same forgiveness to their mother. Soften what is hard, heal what is wounded, and make Christ very sweet where bitterness has dwelt. Keep them in daily prayer for their mother, and let that prayer be accompanied by gentleness, kindness and love. We ask this in the high name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom there is forgiveness now and forever. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We rejoice with you that God in His mercy has lifted what felt like a stone from you. Thanks be to God for His kindness, for He hears prayer and His grace brings forgiveness and covering for sin, and where that blessedness is there is glory and not shame.

We also hear your honest confession that bitterness toward your mother still remains, and that you are praying for her every day. That honesty is good, and your daily prayer for her is pleasing to God. Continue in it with one accord and watchfulness, as those who waited on the Lord in prayer.

Scripture warns us to look diligently lest any root of bitterness spring up and trouble you, and by it many be defiled. A root of bitterness is not like a bitter root that might still bear sweet fruit. It is a fountain and foundation of bitterness that bears nothing sweet, but all is bitter and full of hatred. Even if the root seems small, a little leaven leavens the whole lump, and if a shoot is allowed to grow it will bear its proper fruit and pollute the heart and those around it. So do not suffer any shoot to come up, but let it be cut off.

It is not enough only to try to stop feeling bitter. When the thorns are plucked up, if the field remains idle it will again bear weeds. There is need of a distinct effort to plant what is good in its place. The apostle says, let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another as God in Christ forgave you. Forgiveness for wrongs done against us is greater than forgiveness of a debt of money, for it concerns the soul. The one who is not bitter is not yet necessarily kind, so ask God to work in you both the putting off and the putting on.

In this, look to the example of our Lord, who even when He corrected what was unseasonable still rendered due honor to His mother and showed kindly feeling toward her. We are commanded to honor father and mother, and that honor remains even when there has been hurt and disappointment. To honor does not mean to pretend that hurt did not happen, but to choose kindness, to speak without railing, to pity rather than trample on the fallen, and to seek the good of the other as God has sought yours.

So we encourage you to keep praying for your mother by name each day, to bless her and ask God to work in her life according to His will, and to ask Him to make you tenderhearted toward her. Bring this bitterness into the light before the Lord quickly in confession, and where wise and safe, seek counsel from a mature believer or pastor who holds to Scripture so you are not alone in watching over your heart. When anger or painful memory rises, do not feed it, but turn at once to prayer and to a deliberate act of kindness or a word of forgiveness in your heart.

We will pray for you.

Father, we thank You for lifting this heavy stone and for Your grace that forgives and covers sin through Jesus Christ alone. We ask You to search this heart and cut off every root of bitterness, lest it spring up and defile. Take away all malice and wrath, and plant in its place kindness, tenderheartedness and a readiness to forgive as You have forgiven in Christ. Give strength to continue praying daily for this mother, to honor her as You command, and to walk in freedom and peace. Guard this life from returning weeds, and fill the fallow ground with good seed that bears fruit for Your glory. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
