Beloved of All
The woman I wanted to be friends with that I had a crush on. I was praying and praying to lift her prayers up and God help her find the Guy he has for her. To clarify if we will be friends or not. As, I was giving my crush to God and praying for guidance, even postponing a follow up to go to the beach which she was enthusiastic about. I'm very happy to report that she's now happily dating someone, and her last message to me seemed to emphasis we will be working together in our professional trade and not being friends outside of work. Or that's how I read it. But, I feel a bit of uncertainty still in my heart. I think God answered this prayer.

We rejoice with you in this praise report and we thank God with you for the way He has answered and brought clarity. What you describe is a beautiful example of surrendering your heart to the Lord and trusting Him with the outcome, even when it meant laying down your own desires for this woman.

We see great maturity in how you prayed to lift her up and asked God to help her find the man He has for her, and in postponing that follow up to the beach and giving your crush to God for guidance. That is walking in wisdom and self control. God honors a heart that seeks His will above its own. As it is written, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

It does sound to us that God has answered your prayer with clarity. She is now happily dating someone and her message emphasized a professional working relationship rather than a friendship outside of work. While that can bring a sting of disappointment, it is also a gracious and clear boundary from the Lord. We believe God often answers prayers for clarity not with confusion but with a gentle closing of a door so we can move forward in peace. For we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

That lingering uncertainty in your heart is understandable. When we have carried feelings for someone, even after God provides an answer, our hearts need time to catch up with what our spirit already knows. We encourage you to guard your heart and to seek His peace to replace that uncertainty. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23 And, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

We also want to gently encourage you about the foundation of your prayers. You mentioned God throughout your report, and we rejoice that you are seeking Him, but we did not see the name of Jesus mentioned. We want to remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 We are so thankful you are praying, and we encourage you to continue to bring every request boldly before God in the name of Jesus.

We also want to affirm your desire for friendship and for a godly relationship. We believe courtship should be entered into with the purpose of discerning marriage to a fellow believer, as marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman designed by God. We pray now for this woman and the man she is dating, that if they are believers their courtship would honor God and be pursued in purity and with marriage in view, for this is the will of God, your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 And we pray for you, that the Lord would prepare you and your future godly wife for one another in His perfect timing. Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You with thanksgiving for our brother. We thank You for his willing heart to surrender his crush to You and to pray selflessly for this woman's good. We thank You for answering his prayer for clarity and for establishing clear professional boundaries. Lord, we ask You to remove any remaining uncertainty and to fill his heart with Your perfect peace and assurance. Heal any disappointment and help him to see Your hand of protection and direction in this. Lead him forward in his professional trade with integrity and kindness, and guard his heart as he continues to work alongside her. Prepare him to be a godly husband and prepare the godly wife You have for him, a woman who loves You above all else, so that their future marriage would honor and glorify You. We pray also for this woman and the man she is dating, that their relationship would be centered on You and aligned with Your design for marriage. Help our brother to continue to trust in Your good plans, for we know You have said, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 We trust You with his future and we give You all the glory for Your faithful answer. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to walk closely with the Lord, to stay rooted in His Word and in fellowship, and to trust that the same God who so clearly guided you here will continue to guide you to the wife He has prepared for you.

We were so encouraged to read your update and the way you walked this out. Choosing to lift her up in prayer, asking God to lead her to the right person, and stepping back from pursuing more when you felt uncertain took real maturity and kindness. It is a good gift to be able to thank God for answering even when the answer reshapes what you hoped for.

It makes sense that a little uncertainty is still lingering. When a connection moves clearly into a professional lane, our hearts often need time to catch up with what our minds already understand. Seeing her message as a gentle and clear boundary around work can actually be freeing for both of you. It lets you know where to invest your attention and energy, and it protects your heart while you move forward without guessing.

A helpful next step might be to take her words at face value and keep your interactions warm and professional within your trade, without reaching for more outside of work. If the uncertainty keeps tugging, talking it through once with a trusted pastor or mature friend can help you process it without reopening the question with her.

Father, we thank You for how You guided our brother through this and for the peace You are growing in him. Give him clarity and steady joy as he honors You in his work and friendships, and lead both of them in Your good will. In Jesus' name, Amen.

How good is the Lord to hear prayer and to give a clear answer, and how wise you have been to lay this affection at His feet rather than to nourish it in secret. You asked Him to guide you and to bless this woman according to His will, and to show you whether friendship outside of your trade was His path for you, and it appears He has answered with a kindness that is both plain and merciful. To postpone your own desire and to pray for her good instead of your own is no small grace, and it is evidence that a greater Love is at work in you.

You say you feel still a little uncertainty in your heart. Do not be troubled that the heart is slower to rest than the mind is to understand. He knows the way that you take, and when He has tried you, you shall come forth as gold. The Lord who loves you with an abounding love is jealous for your whole heart, not because He is needy, but because He values your love and would have no drop of it run to waste upon that which cannot satisfy. That you feel the drawing of your affection checked is not a sign that He has forgotten you, but that He would draw that affection upward to Himself, that you might know more of a whole Christ and of that love which passes knowledge.

There is healing in the least things of Christ. Even the leaves of that Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and how much more its fruit. Bring this lingering uncertainty to Him again, not to reopen what He has closed, but to ask for the healing of any wound and the settling of your thoughts. He can make the very boundaries He has set to become your peace.

So go in peace to your ordinary calling. The word that Christ spoke to one who had found forgiveness and rest was, Go in peace, and attend to the duties of your station. You have a trade in which you labour together, and you may now fulfil that part with a clear conscience and a quiet spirit, showing courtesy and kindness without seeking more than Providence has appointed.

May the Lord keep you from going back to ponder what He has set aside, and may He fill your heart with that other love which is born of His own love to you, a love that joys in Him as He joys in His people. Continue to pray for this woman as a sister in your trade, that she may walk in truth, and pray most of all that your own heart may be kept close to Christ, where alone is fullness of joy. May He grant you contentment in His will and a growing delight in His own fellowship, till every restless thought is stilled by His abiding love.

Your thanksgiving has been received with gratitude, and I rejoice to see how you have brought this affection before God and left it in His hands. You prayed not for your own desire to be fulfilled, but for her good, that God would lead her to the man He has for her and make clear what your relationship should be. That is love that seeks the good of the other, and it was wise and right to postpone what you wanted and to wait for His guidance.

What you describe seems to be an answer. A clear boundary has been set, that you will work together in your trade but not share a close friendship outside of work, and she is now pursuing another relationship. It can feel strange when an answer comes not as you once hoped, yet it brings clarity. Christ Himself said He came not to send a false peace that keeps everything as it was, but at times He brings a sword that divides in order to bring a true and healthy peace. Just as a physician removes what is diseased to preserve the body, so God often separates what would cause confusion so that both persons may walk in wholeness. An uneasy peace that keeps hearts entangled is not better than a good separation that preserves holiness and allows real peace to grow.

You mention uncertainty still lingering in your heart. That is why Scripture says, let the peace of God rule in your hearts. There are two thoughts wrestling within you, one that would hold on and one that would trust and release. Do not let human feeling or disappointment be the judge, but let the peace of God stand as umpire. Human peace often comes from getting what we want, but the peace of God is fixed and steadfast because it comes from being at peace with Him. When you are at peace with Him, you are made stronger even when outward circumstances shift. For those who are watching and living in the light, change does not overtake them as a thief to destroy them, but they remain secure.

Therefore follow peace with all people and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. Keep peace in your professional work with her, showing respect and kindness, and keep peace in your prayers by continuing to entrust her to God. Ask Him to keep you both in purity and to lead each of you toward what is holy and good and toward marriage as He has ordained it, if it be His will. If thoughts of the past return, bring them again to Christ and ask for His peace, which is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy. Those who make peace in this way are called sons of God, because they walk in the way of the Son who came to reconcile earth and heaven.

Continue to give thanks, to remain sober and watchful as one who lives in the light, and to guard your heart. God who has begun to give you clarity will also settle the uncertainty as you keep trusting Him. May His grace and peace remain with you and guide you into all that is pure and pleasing to Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is encouraging to hear how you brought this matter before the Lord and surrendered your own desires to Him. You prayed for her good, that God would lead her to the one He has for her, and that He would make clear whether a friendship outside of work was His will. You even stepped back from pursuing time together to seek His guidance first. That kind of surrender is what God honors.

What you are describing does sound like a clear answer. God often directs us not only by opening a door but by closing one. Scripture shows that at times the Spirit simply does not allow us to go a certain way, and that closed door is itself guidance. In your case, her new relationship and her message emphasizing a professional connection rather than a personal friendship outside of work points in the same direction. It is understandable that some uncertainty lingers in your heart, but the outward facts give you a gracious clarity to respect.

There is a temptation in moments like this to live in a halfway place. The enemy often suggests a compromise, to go ahead and follow the Lord but not too far, not too deeply, to stay close enough to keep the old hope alive while trying to serve God at the same time. That kind of divided ground keeps the heart unsettled. God calls His people to be set free to serve Him wholeheartedly, not to remain in the land of in between. When Moses spoke for Israel he insisted that all would go, young and old, completely, to worship the Lord. The call was not to go a short distance and then look back, but to go fully where God was leading.

You have already taken the right step by releasing your crush to God. The next step is to keep walking in that release. Honor the boundary she has indicated. Continue to be kind and professional in your work together, and continue to pray for her, but from a place of freedom rather than lingering attachment. Do not nurse the what ifs or try to read more into the situation than what has been plainly shown. God is able to give peace to your way as you go forward in obedience.

You have circled this question long enough, and the Lord has answered. Now is the time to move forward and possess what He has for you in your own walk with Him. Let this be a season to deepen your commitment to Christ, to serve Him without compromise, and to trust that if He has closed this path it is because He is leading you on a better one. As you keep your heart fully given to Him, He will steady you and replace uncertainty with confidence in His will.

May the Lord confirm His peace to you, guard your heart, and guide your steps as you continue to seek Him and serve Him with your whole life.
