Humble Prayer Warrior
I started a praise report when I got home from the wedding, but I pressed the post button before I was done. I could not figure out how to edit or delete the post, and I was too sleepy to rewrite. As per your request -- I frantically called other hairdressers. Nobody would touch me. Then I got a call from the salon my late mother went to for years. They mixed another temporary dye with more brown in it to get rid of that ugly rust color. I ended up with a very pretty red, still not as beautiful as the color I wanted, but MUCH better. The downside was I had to pay $110.00 plus 20% tip so that came out to $130.00. Also the hairdresser who worked on me noted hair breakage from this perm. Now flash forward to the day of the wedding: I hired a hairdresser, ###, and a make-up artist, her daughter, well in advance of the wedding. I NEVER splurge like this and was second-guessing my decision, but I am very glad I did. ### took one look at my hair, and then she got very aggravated with my now former hairdresser. One reason is ### saw how gorgeous the original color I wanted to get again was and immediately realized this wasn't the same. I explained about the dye-over. She agreed the corrected color was not too shabby, but she could see the orange tone under the newer color and told me I'll ultimately end up with a faded version of that. She also said my old hairdresser should never have permed and colored on the same day. It not only affected the color result, but also damaged the hair. No fall-out, but my hair is dry and brittle. I had to pay seventy five dollars for a bottle of hair repair spray, and ### told me to not use any heat on my hair, not even a blow dryer. Luckily, I wear my hair short, and it grows very quickly. Even luckier, ### has a picture of me with my hair that beautiful color. Once my hair gets healthy again, she can dye it that shade with no problem. Also of note: This lady went above and beyond. She got me a lot of volume and did a beautiful styling job. All things considered, I am very angry that this person not only messed up the color, but also damaged my hair. This being said, I'm thanking God on my hands and knees I didn't lose any hair, and I just found myself a great hairdresser.
