Disciple of Prayer
I am almost half way through my fast right now and despite the troubles I have ran into with my car I have received a financial breakthrough. Since praying and fasting I've been giving more in the offering and asking God to help me in my finances, so I can afford a car. This past week my tips I have been making from waiting tables have been doubling and sometimes tripling in numbers. Last night I had a man who was by himself that tipped me 20 dollars and told me the food and the service were both great. After he left I had another table that came in and they wanted to pay for another table's bill. They left a 10 dollar tip and when they left I told the man who they paid for that his bill was already paid. He pulled out another twenty dollars and said here is your tip. The food and service were excellent. After he left I had one more table come in. After them another table came in and the first table said they would pay for the table that had just walked in. He paid with 100 dollar bill and both his bill and the other bill added up to 70 dollars. He told me to keep the change as a tip. After he left I got a call on the restaurant phone and it was him saying he didn't believe he left enough money for a tip, so he had left 20 more dollars on the hostess stand. The table he paid for also left me a 10 dollar tip. After adding up all the tips last night I made 142 dollars and only had 10 tables. Usually I would only make about 50-80 dollars off 10 tables, but I know this was the Lord and I thank him and give him all the glory.

Also, I'm asking for more prayers for my ex. I had a dream last night I thought might be prophetic and it was about him. A few weeks ago I wrote a letter and gave it to his mom telling her to give it to him when the time was right. I told him in the letter I was still here for him and I was praying for him and I love him and hope things get better for him. I also told him I really enjoyed getting to know him and that he was a great man and all he did was encouraged me through the hard times and had nothing bad to say about me and he's the reason I stayed in church. In the dream last night he had texted me saying he had received the letter and he loved me too and had been working on himself and was really sorry about what happened. He wanted to make things right with the Lord and right with me. I told him I'm willing to make things right as well and keep God in the center of it all. The reason I feel this dream is prophetic is because I don't remember my dreams unless they are prophetic and after having this dream I had gone back to sleep for a while and had a nightmare that was completely opposite of the dream where he texted me and told me I sucked, which seemed completely out of his character and the dream definitely scared me awake and I knew it wasn't from the Lord. I am just asking for more prayers for him that if this dream is prophetic that the Lord is doing a work in his heart right now and he's getting right with the Lord.

We rejoice with you in the financial breakthrough you’ve experienced during your fast! The Lord has truly moved in a mighty way, multiplying your tips and providing for your needs in ways that only He can. Your faithfulness in giving and seeking Him first is a beautiful testimony of trusting God’s provision. "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." (Malachi 3:10 WEB) Your obedience has opened the windows of heaven, and we praise God for His faithfulness to you.

We also lift up your ex in prayer, asking the Lord to work powerfully in his heart. The dream you described does sound like a possible prophetic word from the Lord, and we pray that it is indeed a sign of His restoration and healing in your ex’s life. However, we must also be discerning, as the enemy seeks to counterfeit God’s work. The nightmare you experienced afterward is a clear reminder that spiritual warfare is real, and we must stand firm in prayer. "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 6:12 WEB) We rebuke every lie and attack of the enemy against your ex’s mind and heart, and we declare that God’s truth will prevail.

We also want to gently address the nature of your past relationship with your ex. If this relationship involved any sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we must call it what Scripture calls it: fornication. "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." (1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB) If this was the case, we encourage you both to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, as He is faithful to cleanse and restore. If reconciliation is God’s will, it must be pursued in holiness and with the goal of marriage, should He lead you both in that direction.

We pray that your ex would fully surrender to the Lord, allowing Him to transform his heart and mind. May he turn away from any sin or stronghold and embrace the freedom and wholeness found only in Christ. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9 WEB) We also pray for your heart, that you would remain steadfast in prayer and not be swayed by emotions or false hopes. Trust in the Lord’s timing and His perfect plan for both of your lives.

Father God, we come before You with hearts full of praise for the financial breakthrough You have given to Your child. We thank You for Your provision and for the way You multiply blessings when we seek You first. Lord, we lift up this brother’s ex to You, asking that You would draw him closer to Your heart. Break every chain of sin, shame, or guilt that may be holding him back, and let him experience the fullness of Your love and grace. If this dream is from You, Lord, let it be a sign of Your restoration and healing in his life. Protect both of them from the enemy’s lies and attacks, and let Your truth prevail in their hearts. Give them wisdom and discernment as they navigate this season, and let Your will be done in their lives. We pray for holiness, repentance, and a renewed commitment to You in every area of their lives. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We're rejoicing with you over those tips! It's wonderful to see how God has provided, and your heart to increase your giving as you fast is such a real act of trust. That night with table after table doing something generous, it's a story you'll remember, and your gratitude is right where it belongs.

It makes sense that a dream about your ex would get your attention, especially since you've been carrying him in prayer and even wrote that letter. Those vivid dreams can stir up a lot of hope and a lot of questions all at once. We're glad you're bringing it here instead of just sitting with it alone. Sometimes a dream really does reflect something God is doing, and other times it gives us a window into our own deep desires. Either way, it's stirred you to pray for him again, and that is never wasted time.

What we can do is simply keep lifting him before the Lord, not trying to figure out if the dream was prophetic or not, but trusting that God knows exactly where this man is right now and what he needs. You've already done something brave by writing the letter and entrusting it to his mom. Now you can place both the letter and him in God's hands and ask for genuine, lasting work in his heart: clarity, repentance where needed, healing, and a real turning toward Christ. That's the kind of prayer that aligns with God's heart for anyone.

So for now, hold those hopes with open hands. Keep praying for him as you feel led, and as you do, watch your own heart stay anchored in the Lord who has been so faithful to you, including at those restaurant tables.

Lord Jesus, thank you for the surprising provision this week. Keep deepening this writer's trust in you. For their ex, we ask you to do what only you can: draw him to yourself, bring him into genuine relationship with you, and give him wisdom and courage in every area of his life. Sustain this writer's heart with your peace as they wait and pray. Amen.

Rejoice in the Lord’s provision, for He has plainly shown you His hand. Those multiplied tips are not mere chance, they are tokens that He hears the prayers of His children who honor Him with their substance. Yet let this mercy not be spent on self alone; let it draw you closer to the Giver, and remember that true wealth is to be rich in faith. The widow’s mite and the publican’s tenth were blest because they came from a grateful heart. Give the glory wholly to God, and walk humbly, for He exalts the lowly.

As to the dream, I would speak with tenderness. I do not doubt that your affection for this young man moves you, but we walk by faith, not by dreams. The Lord may speak in the night hours, He did so to His servants of old, but the enemy can also sow tares while we sleep. You have felt the terror of a contrary vision, and that should make you watchful. Do not set your hope upon a shadow. Gather no confidence from what may be mere fancy. Cling to the sure Word of God, and let your prayer be grounded there. Get the promise and then plead it; but if you build on a dream, you may find it a broken reed. The Lord worketh, not by our imaginings, but by His everlasting truth.

What you may do, and must do, is intercede. The prayer for another is the sweetest music heaven hears, for it is the echo of Christ’s own plea for His own. Pray for his soul, that he be brought to true repentance. Pray that he make his peace with God through the blood of the cross, without which no reconciliation standeth. If the Lord restore him, it shall be by bringing him first to the foot of Calvary, broken and weeping. Then, and only then, can there be any mending of earthly bonds in a way that honoureth the Lord. Till that day, let your prayers rise like incense, and leave the outcome with the God who turneth the captivity. Be not weary. Though the answer tarry, pray on, for mighty prayer still prevailes if it has but time.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your testimony of God’s provision during your fast calls for heartfelt thanksgiving. When we set aside bodily needs to seek the Lord, He often pours out blessings beyond what we ask, not as a reward for our own power or holiness, but to display His lovingkindness and to strengthen our resolve to give generously. That the tips doubled and tripled came not from chance but from the hand of Him who sees in secret. Continue to walk worthily of such mercy, using what you have received to bless others and to guard your heart from trusting in uncertain riches. Let this breakthrough deepen your humility and your commitment to the offering, for whatever we cast into the treasury with a cheerful spirit returns to us pressed down and overflowing.

Now concerning your dream of the young man. Dreams can sometimes be from the Lord, but we must not build our hope on them as though they were a sure prophecy. The enemy also sends counterfeits, as you saw in the nightmare that followed, to trouble and confuse. The fruit of a true work of God is repentance unto salvation, a turning of the heart away from sin and toward Christ. Pray earnestly for this man, that godly sorrow would work in him a change not to be repented of. Yet remember what the Apostle teaches: we must not rest our hopes of salvation in any human relationship, not even in the ties of blood or affection, but in faith working through love. If he truly desires to make things right with the Lord and with you, the proof will be a life that bears fruits worthy of repentance. Wait on the Lord with longsuffering and meekness, forbearing in love. Do not let your own soul be so anchored to the thought of him that you neglect the first calling, which is to keep your own lamp burning.

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who glorified His Servant Jesus, is able to draw this man back from any far country. But the work must be His, and the timing His. Your part is to continue in prayer, to live in such a way that if God should restore this bond, it would be built on the foundation of Christ, with humility and the bond of peace. Let your own conduct be pure, and if you stumble, wash away every stain by repentance, tears, and works of mercy. In all things, give glory to God alone, who offers salvation to those who turn, and who delights to heal what is broken in His season.

What a joy to read of how the Lord has been meeting you in such tangible ways. Seeing your tips double and triple like that, especially in the quiet and unexpected ways you described, is a beautiful reminder that God sees the heart behind the giving. When you set your heart to honor Him, even in the uncertainty of a fast, He often responds with provision that goes beyond mere numbers: it becomes personal, full of kindness meant just for you. That night at the restaurant reads like a sequence of divine appointments, and it stirs up gratitude. Let your heart keep rejoicing in His salvation, singing because He has dealt bountifully with you.

And now about the dream. Scripture shows us plainly that God can and does speak through dreams. Daniel, Joseph, and others were given insight into what God was doing or about to do. But the Bible also warns us that not every dream carries a prophetic message. Jeremiah spoke of those who prophesied the deceit of their own heart, making His people forget His name through dreams they shared freely. That is why we are called to weigh everything carefully. He who has a dream tells a dream, but let him who has God’s word speak it faithfully. The chaff is not the wheat.

That means the most trustworthy thing is to bring the dream itself before the Lord. If it truly is from Him, He will confirm it in His way and His time, and usually not just through a fleeting impression upon waking. The real question right now is not whether the dream will come true, but what God is doing in your own heart as you carry this concern for your ex. Prayer has a way of changing us first. It enlarges our heart so we are not pressed into a narrow place of anxiety or wishfulness. We are strengthened to entrust a situation entirely to the Lord.

When it comes to your ex, keep your hope anchored where Scripture anchors it. You long to see evidence of a changed heart, and that is the very thing God requires. Tears alone are not the same as repentance. Saying “I’m sorry” is not the same as the Spirit working such a deep change that a man turns from what is wrong and pursues what is right. True repentance shows itself in altered actions because the heart has been made new. That can’t be manufactured by our outward efforts; you can’t change your heart by simply changing your behavior. The work that lasts is the one God does from the inside. So pray with the psalmist: “Search me, O God, and know my heart.” Ask Him to unite your heart to fear His name. And then pray the same for your ex, that God would grant him a broken and contrite heart, one that is not divided between the world and the Lord, but wholly given over to whatever it takes to be made right.

Pray for the fruit of genuine repentance first, and let everything else remain in God’s hands. He knows the end from the beginning. He knows what is truly taking place in that man’s soul right now. Your role is to keep your own heart with all diligence and to speak truth in love, both toward others and toward yourself.

May the Lord continue to bless the work of your hands as you honor Him, and may He grant you wisdom, patience, and a quiet heart as you lift up these deeper needs.
