Praise God

Your prayer rises from a place where every human heart eventually finds itself. We cry out for healing in the body, rest in the spirit, and a deep, soul-level refreshment that only God can give. And the beautiful truth is that He answers that cry, but often in a way that first reshapes our entire understanding of rest.

True rest is not the same as a good night’s sleep or a day when the pain subsides. Those are gifts, and we rightly thank Him for them, but they are only shadows of a deeper reality. The world is full of people frantically seeking this deeper rest. Some chase it in philosophy, some in prosperity or pleasure, and some just try to numb the inner turmoil. But the restlessness remains, churning like a storm-tossed sea, because there is no peace for those who are at war with God.

The foundation of all genuine rest is first having peace with God. Sin put us at enmity with Him, in a state of constant, exhausting rebellion. Jesus Christ Himself is our peace. Through the sacrifice of His own body and blood, He broke down the wall of hostility. When you turn your life over to Him and receive the forgiveness of sins, the war is over. You are no longer running. That settled standing with God is the sure foundation upon which everything else is built.

From that place of peace with God, you then learn to enter into the peace of God, a peace that seems absurd to the world around you. The Scripture gives us the key: God will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Him. This is where the real struggle often lies for a believer. It’s one thing to be saved, and quite another to truly rest. We say we trust Him, but the moment a new idea or a potential solution pops up, we resort to our own frantic efforts. We treat resting on God as the last resort when every other possibility is exhausted, and then we wonder why our rest is so fragile and tinged with worry.

The call is to labor to enter that rest right now, in the middle of the need. Faith is the only place you will ever find it. You cannot rest in your own works, your skills, or your ability to generate healing for yourself. You rest by making a complete, conscious abandonment to God, acknowledging that this situation is far bigger than you can handle, and He is able to do what you simply cannot. That total commitment to Him is the very definition of peace.

So yes, lift your petition for healing and for the refreshing coolness of His presence. God loves to heal, and His mercies are new every morning. But even as you ask, let your soul settle into His finished work. Cease from your own strivings, just as God rested from His works of creation. Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you.” Receive that peace now. It is not a promise of perfect circumstances, but the unfailing presence of the Perfect One in the midst of them. He is the sure foundation, the precious cornerstone. Rest there, and you will find that His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind.

We are deeply grateful that you entrusted us with the privilege of standing in prayer with you for healing, rest, and the comforting peace of God’s presence. It has been our joy to lift you before the Lord, asking Him to pour out His healing touch and grant you the rest that only comes from His cool, refreshing Spirit.

If the Lord has answered this prayer in any way—whether through physical healing, renewed strength, or a deep sense of His peace—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be an encouragement to others who are also seeking Him in their time of need.

If, however, the answer hasn’t yet come in the way you hoped, we invite you to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, trusting that God hears and works all things according to His perfect will and timing. He is faithful, and His love for you never wavers.

May the Lord continue to draw you closer to Himself, filling you with His hope and grace as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
