We come together in agreement, lifting our voices to our Heavenly Father, acknowledging His sovereignty and majesty. You have taught us through Your Word how to pray, beginning with the reverence and honor due to Your holy name. "Pray like this: βOur Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven'" (Matthew 6:9-10). We recognize that seeking Your Kingdom first is not just a suggestion but a command, and we align our hearts with this truth today.
Father, we confess that too often we rush into our petitions without first seeking Your face and Your will. Forgive us for the times we have placed our desires above Your Kingdom and Your righteousness. You have promised that when we seek Your Kingdom first, all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33). We choose today to realign our priorities, to seek You above all else, and to trust that You will provide for our needs according to Your riches in glory.
We pray for those who may be struggling with this principle, who find themselves anxious about their daily bread, their finances, their health, or their relationships. Remind them, Lord, that You are Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides. Help them to cast their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Strengthen their faith to believe that as they seek You first, You will not leave them lacking in any good thing.
Father, we also lift up those who may be harboring unforgiveness in their hearts. Your Word is clear: "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you donβt forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15). We ask that You soften hearts that have grown hard, that You heal wounds that have festered, and that You restore relationships that have been broken. Teach us to forgive as You have forgiven us, so that we may walk in the freedom and peace that comes from obedience to Your Word.
Lord, we ask that You lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. The enemy prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). Guard our hearts and minds, strengthen us in moments of weakness, and remind us to put on the full armor of God so that we may stand firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).
We declare that Yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. We submit ourselves under Your mighty hand, trusting that You will exalt us in due time (1 Peter 5:6). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can come to You. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We honor You, Jesus, as our Lord and Savior, and we give You all the praise and glory.
May our lives reflect the truth of Your Word, that others may see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven (Matthew 5:16). We commit ourselves to walking in Your ways, to seeking Your Kingdom first, and to trusting You for all our needs. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
