If we are not careful our words and what we say can get us in trouble. Too often we are quick on the trigger with our tongue that it damages the relationships around us. Many of us like to shop and when something does not fit or we do not like it a receipt is necessary for a return. When the items are returned with the receipt, we can get our currency back...

Not so with the words we say, when we speak before we think there is no return receipt in order to take back what was said. One of the ways in which we can be careful of our spoken words is to be good listener. James reminds us to be quick to listen and hear what is said before we comment. Often it may not be a need for a reply. This action will eliminate many arguments, conflict and disagreements...

We can learn from James when he writes about the discipline of listening. Our ears will never get us in trouble...
