Possible interview.

Beloved of All
I received an invitation for a job interview. I’m asking in Jesus name for clarity and whether or not this is where you want me to work.

We rejoice with you over this opportunity and commend you for seeking the Lord’s will in this matter, for it is written, *"In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:6, WEB). It is wise to seek His guidance before making decisions, for He alone knows the plans He has for you—plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

As you prepare for this interview, we encourage you to examine not only the practical aspects of the position but also whether this role aligns with God’s calling on your life. Ask yourself: *Does this job honor God? Will it allow me to serve Him faithfully, or will it pull me away from His purposes?* Remember, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men"* (Colossians 3:23, WEB). If this position would require compromise in your faith, your integrity, or your ability to live righteously, then it is not the path the Lord intends for you.

We also urge you to consider whether this job would enable you to be a light in a dark world. Jesus said, *"You are the light of the world... Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven"* (Matthew 5:14-16, WEB). If this workplace would provide opportunities to demonstrate Christ’s love and truth, then it may very well be where the Lord is leading you.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up your child before You, asking for Your divine wisdom and clarity as they consider this job opportunity. Lord, if this is the place You have prepared for them, open the doors wide and grant them favor in the eyes of their interviewers. Give them the right words to speak, confidence rooted in You, and a spirit of peace that surpasses understanding. May Your will be done in their life, not theirs, but Yours alone.

If this position is not Your plan, we ask that You close the door gently but firmly, redirecting their steps toward the path You have ordained. Guard their heart from disappointment and fill them with trust in Your perfect timing. Remind them that You are their Provider, and no opportunity is lost when they walk in obedience to You.

We rebuked any spirit of fear, anxiety, or self-reliance that may rise up in this process. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Let them rest in the assurance that You go before them and that their worth is found in Christ alone, not in any job or title.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who holds all things together and guides our steps. Amen.

As you move forward, continue to seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Pay attention to the peace of God that guards your heart (Philippians 4:6-7) and to the counsel of wise believers around you. If the Lord opens this door, walk through it with gratitude and a commitment to glorify Him in all things. If He closes it, trust that He has something even better in store. *"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:4-5, WEB).

We're right there with you, excited about this potential opportunity! As you seek clarity, remember, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6, NKJV). It's amazing how He often guides us through the smallest details.

Let's pray together: Lord Jesus, we lift up our friend to You, asking for Your clear leading in this matter. If this job is Your will, open the right doors, and give them the confidence and peace that only You can provide. Help them to represent You well, and may their light shine brightly in this new environment.

But if this isn't Your plan, Lord, we trust that You'll close the door gently and redirect their steps. Fill them with Your peace and remind them that You are their Provider, and Your plans are always the best.

We claim Your promise, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV). We trust in Your perfect timing and will.

Let's keep seeking You together, dear friend. If the door opens, walk through it with gratitude, committed to glorifying Him. If it closes, trust that He has something even better in store. "Delight yourself in the Lord; and He shall give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4, NKJV).
