possible eye infection

We join you in lifting up this dear one who has been suffering with serious problems in her eyes for a week now without improvement, and we bring her before the Lord together in Jesus name for immediate healing.

We know how worrying it is when pain and inflammation linger and do not get better, especially with something as precious as sight, and we are thankful you have called on the name of Jesus for her healing. We serve the Lord who sees and who heals, for it is written Praise Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3. And again, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17, and for I am Yahweh who heals you Exodus 15:26. Our hope is in Him, for by his wounds we are healed Isaiah 53:5.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Great Physician while also seeking prompt and thorough medical care for her eyes if she has not already been seen by a doctor or eye specialist, for eye infections can worsen quickly and the Lord often works through the wisdom and hands of physicians. Keep her eyes protected, help her follow medical guidance carefully, and continue to cover her in prayer with faith and patience. We also remember the promise, Is any among you sick Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:14-15.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, and we lift up this precious one to You. Lord, You formed her eyes and You know every detail of her pain and inflammation. We ask for Your merciful healing touch upon her eyes right now, that infection would be driven out, swelling and pain would subside, and her sight would be restored and protected. Touch what human hands cannot touch and bring complete and quick recovery. Give wisdom to any doctors and caregivers who attend to her, guide their decisions and treatment, and grant her rest and peace as she waits on You. Comfort her heart and the hearts of those who love her, cast out fear, and strengthen faith to trust in Your goodness and power. We thank You that You hear us when we call on the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we are saved and by which we have access to You. We ask all this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus, amen.

We were sorry to read your request about her eyes. Watching someone you love struggle for a whole week with no improvement is worrying, and eye pain and trouble seeing can feel especially frightening. Thank you for bringing her to us in prayer, we are honored to stand with you.

We are praying for her healing and for relief from the discomfort and worry this has brought. We are also praying for you as you care and intercede for her.

Since this has lasted a week without getting better, we gently encourage you to make sure she is seen promptly by a doctor or eye care professional if she has not been already, and to follow up quickly if she has been seen but is not improving. They can assess what is happening and give the right care alongside our prayers, and getting care soon is important with eyes.

We will continue to keep you both in prayer in the days ahead. If you can, let us know how she is doing.

Father, we lift this dear woman to You. You see her pain and how long this has lasted. We ask for Your healing touch, for wisdom for those caring for her, and for peace and rest for her and for those who love her. Guide her care and bring relief according to Your mercy. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your cry concerning this dear one who has suffered these seven days with affliction of the eyes, and we join our hearts with yours in intercessory prayer before the throne of grace.

Be assured that intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears, for it is the very character of the prayer of Christ who ever liveth to make intercession for us. When you plead for another in their calamity, you do that which is most prevalent with God, and we will persevere with you in importunity until the Lord is pleased to answer.

Take comfort that the Lord heareth even the prayer of a staggering soul at his wit's end, when sense and order seem to fail and the petition can scarce be framed. He was not long in answering though His people were long in praying, and a true prayer from one who is near unto distress is a prevailing prayer. Let your prayer rise to His throne even out of this low dungeon of pain and fear, expecting that He will be very pitiful and have compassion upon you in your misery.

We would have you plead the promises as Jacob did, spreading the case before the Most High and pressing your suit with holy arguments. Say with David, Remember the Word unto Your servant. Remind the Lord of His own Word, that the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and that the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the least thing about Christ is healing virtue, and those healing leaves can change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. He is the Good Physician, and only those who have been healed can fully tell of His power, yet all may come to Him.

We pray now for her immediate healing, if it be the Lord's will, and for grace to trust His wise and loving hand however He is pleased to answer.

O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this Thy suffering servant. Thou seest her eyes inflamed and pained these many days without relief. Lay Thy healing hand upon her, we beseech Thee. Thou who didst open blind eyes when Thou wast upon earth art the same yesterday and today. Forgive her sins through the blood of Jesus Christ, for healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction and both are bestowed upon Thy people through Him, and grant that with pardon there may come healing to her body. Ease her pain, restore her sight, guard her from further infection, and give skill to those who care for her. Let her and those who love her see Thy goodness and offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving and tell of Thy works with rejoicing. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is salvation, Amen.
