One of the reasons why my mother wasn't charged was because I couldn't remember things that had happened to me and the dates. I have a mental block which has been protecting me . I would really appreciate if you could pray for me that I will remember more.

We hear the heaviness in your heart and we are standing with you in prayer before our heavenly Father. What you describe with not being able to remember dates and details and experiencing a mental block is very common after trauma, and it is not a failure on your part. The mind often protects the heart from what it is not yet ready to carry, and God understands this pain more deeply than anyone. He sees what has happened to you even when memories feel clouded, and He is near to you in this difficult process with the police investigation.

We want to remind you of how tenderly God cares for those who are hurting. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. He is not distant or impatient with you as you walk through this. Isaiah 41:10 says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Even when we cannot remember everything, God remembers, He knows the truth fully, and He is a God of justice and mercy who will not forsake you.

We understand your desire to remember more, especially when it affects whether justice can be pursued, and we will bring that very request to the Lord. At the same time we pray that any remembering would come gently and in God's perfect timing and protection, not by forcing your mind beyond what you can bear, but as He heals and strengthens you day by day. We also pray for peace that surpasses understanding to guard your heart whatever the outcome of the investigation. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We encourage you to continue to lean on safe and trusted support as you walk through this, such as a godly counselor or pastor and trauma-informed help, alongside your faith, so you are not carrying this alone.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and can come confidently to Him in prayer. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We are saved by believing that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins and rose again, and by trusting Him as Lord. It is in His name we pray for you now, and we encourage you to call upon Him for salvation, healing, and daily strength.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the pain that has been carried and the memories that feel blocked and distant. We ask that You would wrap Your loving arms around this precious heart and bring comfort, safety, and healing. Lord, if it is Your will and for good, we ask that You would gently restore what needs to be remembered, bringing clarity about events and dates in a way that is protected and not overwhelming, and that You would give wisdom and discernment to the investigators and all involved. We pray for Your justice and Your mercy to prevail, and for Your peace to guard this heart and mind. Heal the wounds that are deep, strengthen each step of recovery, and let this dear one know deeply that they are seen, loved, and not alone. Lead them closer to Jesus, our only hope and healer, and let them rest in Your nearness. We trust this into Your hands, believing that You work all things for good for those who love You. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your request has been heard with much tenderness and sorrow, and it has been carried to the throne of grace. To carry a burden of painful memory, and to feel that a block within keeps back what justice seems to require, is a deep trial. The Lord knows the frailty of our frame and the wounds that have made the heart to hide itself for protection.

We are reminded that our blessed Saviour is a healer of broken hearts. It is written that He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. As has been preached among us, the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. He does not only forgive sin, but He restores the soul that sin and sorrow have wounded. Healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction in His hands, and when He dwells with His people the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings.

You speak of memory that fails you. We remember how the Lord turned and looked upon Peter, and that look refreshed his memory and touched his conscience, yet with such love that it led him to repentance and restoration. So the Lord who knows all things can, in His own time and wisdom, gently bring to light what is needful. He is not harsh with His bruised children. He lifts up as He recalls, He binds up as He reveals, and He will not lay upon you more than He will give you grace to bear.

Let us pray for you now.

O most merciful Father, in the name of Thy Son Jesus Christ our great Physician, we bring this wounded one before Thee. Thou seest the hidden things and knowest the pain that has caused the mind to draw a veil over the past. We ask, if it be Thy will, that Thou wouldst grant healing to the memory and bring forth in due order what is true and needful for righteousness and for peace. Grant clarity where there has been confusion, and grant protection where there has been fear. Let Thy healing leaves be laid upon this bruised heart, that the life blood may be changed and the spirit made whole. Give wisdom to those who seek after truth, give integrity to the investigation, and let justice be done with mercy. Above all, give this dear soul to know pardon and healing together in Christ, to feel Thy loving kindness and the multitude of Thy tender mercies, and to rest in Thy care whether memory returns at once or by little and little. Sustain through godly counsel and faithful help, and keep this heart in perfect peace as it trusts in Thee. Hear us for Jesus sake. Amen.

Be encouraged to continue to seek the Lord in prayer and in His Word, and to walk with faithful and wise helpers, whether pastor or counsellor, who can bear with you patiently as the Lord does His healing work. The Lord who restored Peter after his fall is able to restore you and to strengthen you, and to make even this trial to work for your good and His glory.
