We lift you and all who suffer from PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and carries our burdens. This is a heavy trial, and we grieve with you over the pain—both physical and emotional—that so many women endure each month. But we take heart, for Scripture reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and God is deeply concerned with our suffering. He does not ignore our tears or dismiss our struggles as insignificant.
The Lord Jesus Himself bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Matthew 8:17), and we can boldly approach His throne of grace to find mercy and help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Though this disorder may feel overwhelming, we must remember that our hope is not in our own strength but in the One who sustains us. The apostle Paul wrote of a thorn in his flesh—a persistent affliction—and though he pleaded with the Lord to remove it, God’s response was, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9). In our weakness, Christ’s strength is magnified. Even in this, He is teaching us to rely on Him, to draw near to Him, and to trust that He is working all things for our good (Romans 8:28).
We also encourage you to seek wisdom in managing this condition. God has given us minds to steward our health, and there may be medical, dietary, or lifestyle adjustments that could bring relief. Proverbs 19:20 tells us, *"Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days."* Consulting godly medical professionals, researching natural remedies, and maintaining a lifestyle that honors the body God has given you are all acts of stewardship. Do not neglect these practical steps while trusting the Lord for healing.
Above all, we urge you to fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). In the midst of hormonal storms, when emotions feel uncontrollable and despair looms, cling to the truth of God’s Word. Psalm 34:18 assures us that *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. The Lord sees you, and He is with you in this valley.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister and all women who battle PMDD. Lord, You knit us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You know the intricate workings of our bodies. We ask for Your healing touch to restore balance, to calm the storms within, and to bring relief from the physical and emotional turmoil this disorder brings. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and we trust in Your power to bring wholeness.
Father, we pray for supernatural peace to guard the hearts and minds of those who suffer (Philippians 4:7). When anxiety, anger, or despair threaten to overwhelm, let Your Spirit rise up within them as a mighty fortress. Remind them that their worth is not found in their emotions or their circumstances but in Christ alone. Help them to cast their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
We also ask for wisdom, Lord. Guide those who seek medical advice, research, or lifestyle changes. Open doors to the right resources, the right professionals, and the right support. Let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17), whether that weapon is despair, shame, or the lies of the enemy that they are somehow "less than" because of this struggle.
And Father, we pray for unity among believers to surround those who suffer with love, patience, and understanding. Let the church be a place of refuge, not judgment, for those who bear this burden. Teach us all to bear one another’s burdens, fulfilling the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).
Finally, Lord, we declare that You are good, and Your mercy endures forever (Psalm 100:5). Even in this trial, we will praise You. Even when the road is long, we will trust You. Bring healing, Lord—whether instantly or gradually—but above all, let Your name be glorified in this. May those who suffer find their strength in You and testify of Your faithfulness.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Stand firm, dear sister. You are not alone in this fight. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep pressing into Him, and do not lose heart. Your breakthrough is coming.
