We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden of sleeplessness caused by the dark and wicked actions of neighbors who have turned to witchcraft. The Bible is clear that such practices are an abomination to the Lord, as Deuteronomy 18:10-12 tells us, "There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh." We stand firmly against these works of darkness and declare that they will not prevail against you or your household.
First and foremost, we must address the spiritual warfare at hand. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." We rebuke every assignment of the enemy sent to disturb your peace and rest. We command every spirit of witchcraft, torment, and fear to flee in the mighty name of Jesus Christ! The name of Jesus is above every name, and at His name, every knee must bow—including the forces of darkness (Philippians 2:9-10).
We also encourage you to put on the full armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:13-18, so that you may stand firm against the schemes of the devil. The helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the shield of faith, the sword of the Spirit (which is the Word of God), and the shoes of the gospel of peace—these are your protection. Do not neglect prayer and supplication, watching always with perseverance. The enemy seeks to wear you down through lack of sleep, but God promises to give His beloved rest (Psalm 127:2).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Name that is above every other name. We lift up this dear one who is under attack from the enemy through the wicked practices of neighbors. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your hedge of protection, as You promised in Job 1:10. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned, for this is their heritage as Your servants (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we declare that the blood of Jesus covers this home and this life. We plead the blood of Jesus over every doorpost, every window, and every threshold. We command every spirit of witchcraft, fear, and torment to flee now in Jesus’ name! We break every curse, hex, spell, and assignment of the enemy sent against them, and we release blessing, peace, and rest in its place. Lord, let Your angels encamp around them, guarding them in all their ways (Psalm 91:11).
We ask, Father, that You would grant them deep and restful sleep. Let them lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, Lord, make them dwell in safety (Psalm 4:8). Renew their strength as they wait upon You, and let them mount up with wings like eagles (Isaiah 40:31). We pray that You would also soften the hearts of these neighbors, that they might turn from their wicked ways and seek You, the one true God. Let Your light shine into their darkness, and may they come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
Lord, we also ask that You would fill this dear one with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let them not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day (Psalm 91:5). Strengthen their faith, and remind them that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. We trust in You to bring rest, peace, and protection to this situation. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
In addition to prayer, we encourage you to take practical steps to guard your home and heart. Begin each day by declaring the Word of God over your life and your home. Speak scriptures aloud, such as Psalm 91, Psalm 23, and Ephesians 6:10-18. Play worship music or hymns in your home to invite the presence of the Holy Spirit. Consider anointing your home with oil, as a symbol of setting it apart for God’s purposes (Exodus 40:9). Most importantly, remain steadfast in your faith, knowing that God is your refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2).
If you have not already, we urge you to examine your own heart and life to ensure there is no open door for the enemy. Have you entertained fear, bitterness, or unforgiveness? Have you dabbled in any form of the occult, even in curiosity? Confess any sin to the Lord, and ask Him to cleanse you with the blood of Jesus (1 John 1:9). The enemy seeks to exploit any area of weakness, so we must walk in holiness and righteousness before the Lord.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that our access to God and the power to overcome these attacks comes only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). It is only through His blood that we have victory over the powers of darkness. If you have already accepted Christ, we encourage you to draw near to Him daily, abiding in His Word and in prayer.
Stand firm, dear one. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He has already won the victory. Do not grow weary, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).
