Your brief and silent prayer is heard, even as Nehemiah's was when he stood before the king and lifted his heart to the God of heaven in a moment, without sound or outward sign. The Lord who heard him hears you now.
I join my Amen to yours and give thanks with you unto our heavenly Father, for He does not mock His children when they ask. When we ask for good things He gives good things, and when we pour out our hearts before Him, even in silence, He knows the request before the tongue can frame it. The spirit of prayer is the mother of such brief, silent prayers, and blessed be His name, she is a plentiful mother. Many times in a day may we speak with the Lord our God, and He is not weary of our coming.
Do not think that you must feel a blaze of joy or attain to some high frame before your prayer is accepted. You are to trust Him for that very thing. Trust Him as you sink and you shall swim. Trust Him as you feel yourself in need and you shall live. Cast yourself simply upon the Lord Jesus Christ, trust in nothing but His blood, and know that He is able to save all who trust Him.
May the living God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness and has shined in our hearts to give the knowledge of His glory in the face of Jesus Christ, supply your silent requests according to His wisdom and mercy. We trust in the living God, the real God, the God with a great, warm, loving heart, who is thinking and active and working on behalf of His people.
I pray that the Lord will grant you inward gratitude and quiet confidence, that you may come into His presence with thanksgiving and find His paths dropping fatness to your soul. May He check and comfort you, guide you and keep you, and give you to know more fully His love as you continue to trust His Son.
In the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior, Amen.
