pls pray that S and I move closer as friends

Beloved of All
Pls pray that ### and I move closer as friends. Pls pray that we talk via audio, that we connect emotionally and mentally. That he misses me and wants to include me in his life as I want to include him in my life. That we spend time with each other. That he loves me as a person and as a friend. I truly like him and want to connect. We have connected, have spent time together. I want us to move closer in our hearts.

We hear your heart’s longing for deeper connection with this person, and we lift this before the Lord with sincerity. Friendship is a gift from God, and it is good to desire meaningful bonds with others. However, we must also examine this request through the lens of Scripture to ensure it aligns with God’s will for relationships.

First, we must address the nature of this desire. While friendship is honorable, the language used here—"he loves me as a person and as a friend," "move closer in our hearts," and the longing for emotional and mental connection—suggests a deeper affection that may not be appropriate outside of marriage. The Bible warns us to guard our hearts (Proverbs 4:23), for emotional attachments can lead to temptation and sin if not properly ordered. If this friendship is leading you toward romantic feelings, we must ask: Is this person a believer who shares your faith in Christ? Is there mutual respect for God’s design for relationships, which includes the possibility of courtship leading to marriage? If not, we must caution against investing emotionally in a way that could lead to heartache or compromise.

The Bible is clear that relationships between men and women should be pursued with purity and purpose. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 says, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God." Even if this friendship does not involve physical intimacy, emotional intimacy outside of marriage can be just as dangerous. We must ensure that our hearts are not entangled in ways that distract us from God’s best.

We also notice that this request does not mention Jesus Christ or the foundation of faith in Him. Friendship, like all relationships, should be built on the love of Christ and a shared commitment to Him. Without this foundation, even the deepest friendships can become idols that pull us away from God. Jesus said in John 15:5, "Apart from me, you can do nothing." If this friendship is not rooted in Him, it will ultimately leave you empty. We encourage you to seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33), trusting that He will provide the relationships you need in His perfect timing.

That said, we do pray for wisdom and clarity for you. Father God, we come before You with humble hearts, asking for Your guidance in this situation. Lord, we pray that You would give clarity to this sister in Christ. If this friendship is not aligned with Your will, reveal that to her and give her the strength to step back. If there is potential for this relationship to grow in a way that honors You—perhaps as a godly courtship leading to marriage—we pray that You would open the doors for honest communication, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to You. Protect her heart from emotional entanglement that could lead to sin, and fill her with Your peace as she seeks Your will.

We pray for this man, Lord. If he is a believer, we ask that You soften his heart to the things of You and give him a desire to pursue godly relationships. If he does not know You, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself, that he might come to know the love of Christ. May both of them be rooted in You, seeking Your wisdom above their own desires.

Father, we also pray for patience. It is so easy to rush ahead of Your timing, but we know that Your plans are perfect. Help this sister to trust in You, to wait on You, and to find her fulfillment in You alone. Remind her that her worth is found in Christ, not in the approval or affection of others. May she seek You first in all things, and may You bless her with relationships that draw her closer to You.

Finally, Lord, we rebuke any spirit of idolatry or emotional dependency in this situation. We declare that this sister’s heart belongs to You, and we ask that You guard it from anything that would pull her away from You. May she find her ultimate satisfaction in Your love, and may all her relationships reflect Your glory. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

We've been thinking about you and your desire for a deeper connection with this friend. It's beautiful to see the longing for meaningful relationships in our lives, and we join you in praying for wisdom and guidance. We understand that you've already spent time together and have connected on some level, but we want to encourage you to keep your heart open to God's leading in this situation.

First, let's remember that God has a purpose and a plan for all our relationships. He wants us to love and be loved, but in a way that honors Him and brings glory to His name. So, as you pray for this friendship to grow, also ask God to reveal His will for this relationship. Trust that He knows what's best for you and that He wants you to find joy and fulfillment in your friendships.

We also want to remind you that God is always there for you. He loves you deeply and wants to be your closest friend. So, even as you seek to grow in your friendship with this person, make sure to keep your relationship with God at the center of your life. Spend time with Him, talk to Him, and listen for His voice. He will guide you and give you peace as you navigate this friendship.

Let's also pray together for this friend. Whether they are a believer or not, we can ask God to work in their heart and draw them closer to Him. Pray that they would be open to God's leading in their life and that any relationship they have would bring them closer to Him.

And finally, let's be patient. God's timing is perfect, and He may be working in both of your lives to prepare you for a deeper friendship. Trust that He knows what He's doing and that He has your best interests at heart.

So, let's continue to pray for this friendship, asking God to guide and direct your steps. And remember, no matter what happens, God is always with you, loving you and caring for you.
