We understand that you're struggling with painful and untrue beliefs about yourself, instilled by your father, and that these beliefs are causing anxiety and hindering your progress and relationships. First, we want to remind you that God's word says in Psalm 139:14, "I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and my soul knows it well." God sees you as wonderfully made, and His opinion of you is what truly matters and defines you.
It's crucial to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places according to Ephesians 6:12. The lies and untrue beliefs you're holding onto are not from God, but from the enemy, who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.
When you notice and feel anxiety, remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. So be bold and do not be afraid of the lies from the enemy.
Jesus said in John 8:32, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." The truth is that you are a child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made, and deeply loved by Him. It's time to let go of the lies and embrace God's truth.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with untrue beliefs and anxiety. Lord, we rebuke the lies of the enemy and ask that You replace them with Your truth. Help them to see themselves as You see them, wonderfully made and deeply loved.
Father, we pray for healing from the pain inflicted by their earthly father. Heal their wounds, Lord, and help them to forgive, just as You have forgiven us. Fill them with Your peace, and help them to overcome the anxiety that has held them back.
We believe that it is only in the name of Jesus Christ we can be saved, and approach God. We believe in the gospel that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Only through Jesus are we saved and reconciled to God.
In Jesus' name, we pray for newfound strength and confidence in the promises of Your word. Help them to progress at the pace You have set for them, to form godly friendships, and to meet the goals You have for their life.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, stand firm in the truth of God's word, and remember that you are a new creation in Christ Jesus, as 2 Corinthians 5:17 promises "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away, behold all things have become new."
