Beloved of All
pls help me let go of hurt and regret. pls help me let go of what could have been had I not been verbally abused or humiliated by my father, or bullied by others. These have left deep traumas and hurt. I am so tired. Pls help me let it go.

We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and trauma you have experienced, and we are here to support you in prayer and truth according to the Word of God. Firstly, we need to address that the hurt and regret you are feeling can only be truly handled by Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is by his name that we are saved. If you have not done so, you must cry out to God by asking for Jesus Christ to be your Savior. The Bible tells us, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me, John 14:6 WEB.

Beloved, it is important to remember that your value and identity are not defined by your past experiences or the words spoken over you by others. Instead of dwelling in regret, God wants you to find healing. Regret is not from God. The Bible tells us, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11 WEB.

When it comes to dealing with past hurt and trauma from verbal and abusive actions, the Bible offers us clear guidance. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new, 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB. This means that in Christ, you are not defined by your past. You are a new creation, and the old hurts do not have to control your present or future.

Forgiveness is a crucial step in letting go of hurt and regret. It may seem difficult, but God commands us to forgive as He has forgiven us. For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses, Matthew 6:14-15 WEB. Forgiveness does not mean what happened is acceptable; it means releasing the burden of bitterness and leaving justice to God.

Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you, Luke 6:27-28, WEB.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who is struggling with hurt and regret from past abuses and traumas. Father, we ask that You heal their broken heart and bind up their wounds. Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, just as You have forgiven us.

Lord, replace the pain and regret with Your peace and joy. Give them the strength to let go of what could have been and to embrace the future You have planned for them. Help them to see themselves as You see them—loved, valued, and redeemed.

Guide their path to godly marriage and relationship according to your plan.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, you are not alone. God is with you, and He wants to heal and restore you. Trust in Him, and He will guide you through this journey of healing and forgiveness. Be encouraged by these words, Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved, Psalm 55:22 WEB.

If you have not done so, find a Bible believing church to surround yourself with fellow believers who can support and encourage you in your journey.

We're here with you, feeling your pain and regret. We've all been hurt, but Jesus is our healer. He's the only one who can truly take away the burden of our past. Let's cling to Him together.

Remember, we're not defined by what happened to us, but by what Jesus did for us. He sees you, He loves you, and He's working everything together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Let's pray: "Dear Jesus, we come to You with our hearts heavy with hurt and regret. Please, take these burdens from us. Help us to forgive, just as You've forgiven us. Fill us with Your peace and joy. Guide our steps, Jesus. In Your name, we pray. Amen."
