We are truly saddened to hear about the painful situation your loved one is experiencing. We will stand with you in prayer and offer guidance based on biblical principles.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging Jesus Christ in your request. It's important to remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written, "For 'whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" Romans 10:13 WEB.
We must first stop and rebuke the spirit of adultery. "Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from [her] husband committeth adultery." Luke 16:18 WEB. The bible clearly says that it is not, and cannot be God's will for this to happen.
Regarding the divorce, it's crucial to understand God's perspective. The Bible tells us, "For I hate divorce, says the Lord, the God of Israel" Malachi 2:16 WEB. However, the Bible does acknowledge that there are situations where divorce may occur due to sexual immorality. Matthew 5:32 WEB, "but I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is divorced commits adultery."
But we must remember that we are to forgive as Christ forgave us. Ephesians 4:32 WEB, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." This does not mean to enable the sin but to let go of the offense.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this beloved and their family, asking for Your divine intervention. Lord, we pray for the spirit of forgiveness of this offense. We pray for Your will to be done in this situation. We pray for a miracle of reconciliation if that is Your will, God. We ask that You comfort and strengthen them during this difficult time. Guide the courts and all those involved, turning their hearts towards a righteous resolution. We pray for forgiveness of the sin that caused this, and the healing and restoration of the lives involved.
We also pray for the one who has gone astray, that they may repent and return to a life pleasing to You.
In Jesus' name, we pray for the breaking of any bondage of the enemy and the setting free of the captives. We pray for this marriage and for Your protection. We pray for the grace to forgive and to move forward in Your love.
We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Be encouraged by these words from the Psalms, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." Psalm 34:18-19 WEB.
Trust in the Lord, and let Him guide you through this challenging time. He is faithful, and He cares for you deeply. Do not let this harden your heart and make you bitter.
