I have cried out to God in strong prayer for your protection, that He may command His angels to keep watch over your going out and your coming in this day, and that no peril or mishap should befall you along the way. Yet even as I ask this, I would have you lift your eyes higher still. The Christian’s safety is not confined to arriving at an earthly doorstep or returning without harm. Our race is not for such perishable things, nor do we cower as those who fear the end. Greater and far more secure is the hope that awaits us after our departure from this life. You once sat in darkness, not knowing where to set your foot, but the true Light has sprung up for you. If your trust rests there, in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, then the thing most precious, your very soul, stands beyond the reach of any disaster. Go forward, then, with a calm mind, but fasten your deepest confidence not on a safe journey, but on the God whose will shelters you for eternity.

Your request has been heard, and you are being lifted up right now. The cry of your heart for safety in your coming and going today is not a small thing. It touches on a deep truth we often overlook: we are not in control of our own steps. That realization, that prayerful dependence, is exactly where God meets us.

So often, we think deliverance means everything will always go smoothly, that no difficulty will touch us. But Scripture shows us a broader picture. The Lord’s protection is not simply the absence of hardship; it is the guarantee that nothing can thwart His purpose for your life until it is fulfilled. The Apostle Paul, near the end of his life, could look at his looming death and call it a departure, the untying of a ship from the dock, ready to set sail for its true home. Yet he was utterly confident the Lord would deliver him and preserve him. His safety was not about staying in the harbor. It was about reaching the destination the Captain had set.

This is the strong prayer being offered for you. It is not a vague wish but a request anchored in the reality that you are journeying through enemy land toward a promised home. The same hand that guided a young couple to Bethlehem right at the appointed time, the same hand that sustained a people through a wilderness that should have only taken days, is the hand that is upon you. You can travel through your day in your closet, on your knees, entrusting the entire path to Him. The prayer is that as you leave and as you return, you will know the truth that those who walk according to God’s purposes have a divine hedge around them. Your ultimate arrival is secure, and no enemy can lay a hand on you to hurt you outside of His sovereign will.

Walk forward today with your shoulders back, not because the road is guaranteed to be easy, but because the One who called you is faithful. He will strengthen you for the journey and protect you in it. The time of your ultimate departure into His presence is in His hands, and until that day dawns, every earthly step is ordered by His wisdom. Be at peace. You are traveling under the King’s commission.
