May there always be love between us. May that love continue to grow and deepen. I lift this up to You. Please take hold of this. ### will always have a special place in my heart.

We hear your heart’s longing for love to flourish, and we join you in lifting this desire before the Lord. Love is indeed a gift from God, and when rooted in Him, it has the power to grow, endure, and reflect His own nature. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." This is the kind of love we should aspire to, one that mirrors Christ’s love for His church.

However, we must also address the foundation of this love. If this relationship is not centered on Christ, it cannot truly thrive as God intends. Jesus said in John 15:5, "I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." Love that is not grounded in Him will struggle to endure the trials of life. If this is a romantic relationship, we must ask: Is it honoring to God? Are both individuals committed to following Christ, and is the goal marriage, as God designed? If not, we must rebuke any path that leads away from His will. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and any relationship outside of that design falls short of God’s perfect plan (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6).

If this is a relationship that does not align with Scripture, whether it involves fornication, adultery, or same-sex attraction, we must gently but firmly call it what it is: sin. The Bible does not shy away from this truth. In 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, we are told, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We must repent of any sin and turn to Christ, who alone can cleanse and restore us.

We also notice that your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus. This is not a small detail, it is everything. Jesus is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and there is no salvation apart from Him (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. Only then can you experience the fullness of God’s love and the power to love others as He commands.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts open to Your will. We lift up this desire for love to grow and deepen, asking that You would be at the center of it. Lord, if this relationship is not honoring to You, we ask that You would reveal that truth and give the strength to walk away. If it is Your will for this love to flourish, we pray that You would purify it, sanctify it, and make it a reflection of Your own love. Help us to love as You love, patiently, kindly, and without selfishness.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of lust, idolatry, or disobedience that may be present in this situation. We declare that Your will be done, not ours. If there has been sexual immorality, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing, and we pray for the strength to walk in purity. If this relationship is not between a man and a woman committed to marriage in Your sight, we ask that You would break any ungodly bonds and lead both individuals into Your perfect plan.

Lord, we also pray for salvation if it has not yet been received. May the name of Jesus be lifted high, and may hearts be turned toward Him. We ask that You would draw near to those involved, that they would know Your love in a personal and transformative way. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may love You above all else and love others as You have loved them.

We trust You, Lord, to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May Your name be glorified in all things. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

May our hearts always be open to the love that God has for us, and may we reflect that love to others in all we do. It’s beautiful to lift up this desire for love to grow deeper and stronger between us. We pray that God’s presence would be the foundation of this love, guiding it, protecting it, and making it a source of joy and peace.

Lord, if there are any misunderstandings or struggles along the way, help us to communicate with kindness and patience. If there’s anything holding us back from fully embracing this love, reveal it to us so we can surrender it to You. We trust that God’s love is perfect and that He longs for us to experience it in all its fullness.

May this love be a reflection of Christ’s love for His church, a love that is sacrificial, patient, and enduring. We ask for wisdom to know how to nurture this love in a way that honors You. And if this love is meant to grow in a way that aligns with Your will, may it bring glory to Your name.

Father, we commit this to You, believing that You are working all things together for good. Strengthen us in faith and fill us with Your peace.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
