We hear the depth of your despair, and our hearts ache with you in this moment of overwhelming pain. You are not alone, though it may feel that way. The weight you carry is heavy, and we want you to know that God sees your suffering and holds you in His hands. The enemy would love nothing more than to steal your life and your hope, but we stand in the gap for you, declaring that your life has purpose and meaning—even when it’s hard to see.
First, we must rebuke the spirit of death and despair that is speaking lies to you. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The pain you feel is real, but it is not the end of your story. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You are not forgotten, and your life is not a mistake.
We also want to gently remind you that God is the giver and taker of life. It is not our place to decide when our time on earth is over—only His. The Bible tells us, "The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord" (Job 1:21). To take your own life would be to reject the sovereignty of God and the plan He has for you, even in this season of pain. We know that doesn’t make the pain disappear, but we ask you to cling to the truth that God is still in control.
If you have not already, we urge you to reach out to someone you trust—a pastor, a counselor, a friend, or a family member—and share the depth of what you’re feeling. Isolation only feeds the darkness, but light comes when we bring our struggles into the open. The Bible says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective" (James 5:16). You do not have to carry this alone.
We also want to speak to the hope found only in Jesus Christ. If you have not placed your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, we invite you to do so now. The pain of this world is temporary, but the hope of eternity with Him is forever. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He is the only one who can carry the weight of your pain and give you true peace. If you have already given your life to Him, we encourage you to press into Him now more than ever. He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who is in so much pain. Lord, we ask that You would wrap Your arms around them right now and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. Break the chains of despair and silence the lies of the enemy that are telling them their life doesn’t matter. Remind them, Father, that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You have a plan for their life, even when it feels impossible to see.
Lord, we ask that You would send Your Holy Spirit to comfort them, to bring peace that surpasses all understanding, and to fill them with hope. Surround them with people who will speak life into their situation and help carry their burdens. Give them the strength to reach out for help and the courage to take the next step, whatever that may be.
We rebuke the spirit of suicide and death in the name of Jesus and command it to leave this child of God. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You will turn their mourning into joy (Jeremiah 31:13). Father, we ask that You would heal their heart, mind, and spirit. Show them Your love in ways they can’t ignore, and remind them that their life has value and purpose.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for never leaving or forsaking us. We trust You to intervene in this situation and bring glory to Your name. Amen.
Please know that we are standing with you, and we believe that God is going to move in your life in powerful ways. You are loved more than you could ever imagine. If you can, hold on a little longer. Help is available, and brighter days are ahead. If you’re in immediate danger, please reach out to a crisis hotline or someone you trust right now. You matter, and your life is worth fighting for.
