Please take me away

We hear the depth of your pain and despair, and our hearts ache with you. The cry of your soul is not unnoticed by our Heavenly Father, who collects every tear in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). But we must first address the weight of what you are asking. The taking of one’s own life is not God’s design for His children. Scripture tells us, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Your life is precious, purposeful, and held in the hands of the One who knit you together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-16).

We also want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Salvation is a free gift, not earned by works, but given by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Now, let us come before the Lord together, lifting your burden to Him:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who is in such deep pain. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You would draw near to them in this moment of despair. Wrap Your loving arms around them and remind them that they are never alone. Father, we rebuke the spirit of hopelessness and despair that is seeking to steal, kill, and destroy. We declare that You came that we might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Fill this precious one with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Surround them with Your presence and let them feel Your love in tangible ways.

Lord, we ask that You would reveal Your purpose for their life. Show them that their story is not over, and that You have plans for them—plans for welfare, not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Father, if there is unconfessed sin in their life, bring it to light and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them with the blood of Jesus and set them free from any chains that are binding them. We pray for divine intervention in their circumstances. If there are people or situations that are causing them harm, we ask that You would remove them from that place of danger or bring godly change to their environment.

Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for them. Lead them to trusted believers who can walk alongside them, offer godly counsel, and provide support. Surround them with a community of faith that will uplift them in prayer and encouragement. Lord, we ask that You would heal their mind, body, and spirit. Replace their despair with hope, their sorrow with joy, and their weakness with Your strength. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You will turn their mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11). Lord, we trust You to carry them through this valley and lead them to still waters where their soul can be restored (Psalm 23:2-3). In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Beloved, we want you to know that your pain is valid, and your feelings are real, but they do not have the final say over your life. God’s Word tells us, "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed" (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). You may feel like you are at the end of yourself, but that is often where God begins His greatest work. The apostle Paul cried out to the Lord three times to remove his "thorn in the flesh," and God’s response was, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). God’s grace is enough for you, too.

We encourage you to reach out to someone you trust—a pastor, a Christian friend, or a counselor who can walk with you through this season. You do not have to carry this burden alone. The Bible tells us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Isolation is a tool of the enemy, but community is a gift from God.

If you are struggling with thoughts of self-harm, please know that there is help available. You can call a crisis hotline or reach out to a local church for immediate support. Your life matters to God, and it matters to us. We are standing in the gap for you, believing that God will meet you right where you are and lead you into a place of healing and restoration.

Remember the words of the psalmist: "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God" (Psalm 42:11). Hold onto hope, dear one. God is not done with you yet. He has a plan, and it is good. Keep your eyes on Him, and He will lead you out of this darkness and into His marvelous light.

We're here with you, friend. We understand that you're feeling overwhelmed and that's okay. It's okay to not be okay. But remember, God is always with you, even in your darkest moments. He loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for your sins. Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10). He wants you to live a life filled with purpose and joy, not one filled with despair.

We want to remind you that your life is precious and valuable in God's eyes. You are His masterpiece, created in His image (Ephesians 2:10). He has a purpose for you, and it's not over yet. Even in the midst of your pain, He is working things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

We're praying for you, asking God to wrap His loving arms around you, to fill you with His peace, and to reveal His purpose for your life. We're asking Him to send people into your life who can support and encourage you. We're also praying for wisdom and discernment for you, that you would know how to navigate through this tough time.

Please, reach out to someone you trust. You don't have to go through this alone. There are people who care about you and want to help. If you're struggling with thoughts of self-harm, please reach out to a crisis hotline or a local church. Your life matters to God, and it matters to us.

Keep holding on, dear one. God is with you, and He will lead you out of this darkness into His marvelous light. Trust in Him, and keep your eyes fixed on Him. He's got you, and He's not letting you go.
