Please stop my hair fall

The body’s health vexes you, but consider what the eye of your understanding beholds. For as the disordered eye mistakes the object before it, so does the mind made turbid by the confusion of earthly cares. You pray against the falling of hair, yet the falling of the passions is a far weightier matter. The loss of hair is a trifle, yet even so all the comeliness of the frame seems destroyed. But if this lesser loss causes you such anguish, what ought you to feel over the loss of the soul’s covering, the garment of virtue, worn thin by love of appearances? That race which longs for hair overlaid with molten gold has assumed a portentous form, for they wish to adorn what even nature teaches is a dishonor when pursued with effeminate care. Are not these anxieties the very satanical cries and devilish gestures that disgrace our nature, where the dressing of the hair tends toward impurity and pours effrontery into the soul? Beware lest, under the impulse of this madness, your own heart be plucked up from its chaste foundations, satiating the desire of the wicked demon.

Yet I do not leave you without comfort. For even your small offering is not rejected when it comes from a right disposition. You remember the widow’s mites; some contributed even hair in the fitting up of the temple, and they were not rejected. But if when they had gold, they had brought hair, they would have been accursed. For the greatness of the charity is not shown by the measure of what is given, but by the disposition of the giver. Bring then to God what you truly have: not merely a petition for hair, but a soul humbled under His mighty hand. Lay all this turmoil aside with much speed, that you may be freed from heaviness. For we rejoice not so much on hearing of the health of those we love, as when we see them standing firm in faith, contrary to all hopeless hope.

Therefore, pour out this request if it must be, but let it be the least offering. Let the substance of your prayer be for the health of the inner man, that you may partake of the root and fatness of the true olive tree, Jesus Christ. He who wars with his own providence wars with himself; the injury reaches not only to the body, but the soul also undergoes no small loss. I speak of the sick and relate their anguish not to make you diseased, but to preserve you in health, cutting off your remissness by the fear of greater calamities. When then will you be sober again, now that vanity pours out so much strong wine? Weep and groan bitterly for the iniquity that so easily clings to us, and seek first the crown of righteousness that never fades, leaving the hairs of your head to the wisdom of Him who numbers them all.

I hear the ache in your request, and I want you to know Jesus hears it too. Hair loss can feel like a private grief, something others might dismiss, but to you it’s deeply personal. You're crying out for healing, and that’s not a small thing to God.

Scripture shows us that what happens to our bodies often intersects with what’s happening in our souls. The apostle John once wrote a friend, wishing that his physical health would match the health of his soul. It wasn’t a blanket promise, but it does point to a truth we’re learning more about all the time: our thoughts and emotions leave real marks on our bodies. Fear and anxiety can churn inside us, affecting everything from our sleep to our skin, even our hair. That’s why Proverbs reminds us that a cheerful heart is like good medicine. So while you pray, I’d encourage you not to let this distress consume you. Bring the worry to God and leave it with Him, trusting that He cares for your whole being.

The Bible also tells us that God is the one who can restore things that seem irreversibly lost. Think of Samson. He had been set apart for God, but through his own failures he ended up stripped of his strength and his glory. His head was shaved. Yet, in time, the hair of his head began to grow again. That quiet detail is a picture of grace, the unmerited kindness of God that doesn’t give up on us. There’s also the ancient provision for cleansing leprosy, a condition that bleaches and destroys. God made a way for a person to be declared clean and made whole again, even when human medicine could do nothing. In both stories, healing was possible because God’s power was at work.

I can’t promise exactly how God will answer your specific plea. But I can tell you this: Jesus is not indifferent to your body. He knows the number of hairs on your head, and He knows the ones that have fallen. Take confidence in His love. Ask Him not only to stop the hair fall and restore healthy hair, but also to fill your heart with His peace, the kind that surpasses understanding and stabilizes you inside, whatever you see in the mirror.

Let me pray for you now: Jesus, this one who is reading longs for healthy hair and for this loss to stop. I ask You to touch their body with Your healing power. Calm any stress that might be working against them, and give them rest in Your care. If it pleases You, reverse this condition and restore what’s been lost. More than that, let them know deep down that their worth is secure in You, no matter what. Strengthen their soul, and let that inner health overflow. Amen.

We want to thank you for trusting us with your prayer request and giving us the privilege to stand in agreement with you before the Lord. It has been on our hearts to lift you up, asking our Heavenly Father to intervene in your situation and bring healing to your scalp and hair. We have prayed that Jesus, our Great Physician, would touch you with His healing power, stopping the hair loss and restoring healthy growth as only He can.

If you have seen an answer to these prayers—whether through a noticeable change, a sense of peace, or divine intervention—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If, however, the struggle continues and you feel led to keep seeking the Lord’s help, we encourage you to post this request again. We will continue to stand with you in faith, believing that God hears and answers the cries of His children.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him, trusting in His timing and His perfect will. We pray that He strengthens your faith, fills you with His peace, and reminds you of His unfailing love in every season. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
