Disciple of Prayer
My little dog is about ### years old. He has been through so many things in the years I've had him. I found him on July 4, ### wandering in the streets that night and rescued him. A few years later he had a blood disorder and I thought I was going to lose him then but he pulled through. He stayed ### days overnight in the vet's care. I was able to visit him everyday. They said he wouldn't eat but I would sneak in little bits of food and he would eat and wag his tail when he saw me. The vet said he had little chance of making it but he did. They said his approximate age was ###. That was about ### years ago. Now he is suddenly losing weight and has diarrhea. He is eating and I'm giving him pedialyte to drink. I know he will not do well at the vet. I don't want him to go through all that like the last time. He doesn't seem to be in pain but deep in my heart I know that his time is near. He's always been the strong one, and perhaps this prayer is really for us. I want him not to suffer a single day and I want to have the strength to do what is right and to be able to be happy without him by my side. I love you ### and God please be with us and guide us. Help us make the right decisions and give us strength.
...and as I write this my husband walks in from work and my little dog perks his ears up to greet him. Looks like he wants something to eat. I know he's not getting better but at least I know he's not suffering and still finds happiness to just be with us.
