We have heard your heart cry and we join with you in bringing it before the Father, asking that you would know His perfect safety both in this life and in the life to come. Your desire to be safe always and to be on the better side when you die is a desire God Himself has placed in the human heart, for He wants us to dwell with Him forever.
The Scriptures tell us that God is our refuge and protection. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. Jesus also gives us this assurance about eternal safety, I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand John 10:28. For those who belong to Him, to be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord 2 Corinthians 5:8, and that is the better side you are longing for. Jesus said, In my Father's house are many homes. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you John 14:2.
We notice that your prayer was addressed to God, but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and assurance of that better side. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life John 3:16. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9.
So we pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we lift up this precious soul to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask that You reveal Yourself to them as their Shepherd, their Refuge, and their Savior. Draw them to put their full trust in Jesus, believing that He died for their sins and rose again, so that they may have forgiveness and the gift of eternal life. Keep them safe in Your hands each day, guard their heart from fear, and give them deep peace and assurance that when this life ends they will be with You forever in the place Jesus has prepared. Fill them with hope and let them know that nothing can separate them from Your love. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.
We encourage you to rest in the promise that God hears you and He desires to keep you safe forever. Turn to Jesus daily, read His Word, talk to Him in prayer through the name of Jesus, and trust Him as your Lord and Savior. He is faithful to keep you now and to bring you safely home to be with Him when your time on this earth is done.

Your simple and sincere prayer has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace. You ask God to keep you safe always, even when you die, and to let you go over to the better side when this life is ended. This is the very longing which the gospel itself is given to answer.
The Scriptures teach us that eternal life is not merely a future hope of Heaven after death. Eternal life commences here, it begins in the believer as soon as he is born again, and then he receives into him that same life which he will have throughout eternity. To know the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He has sent, is eternal life. To accept God as your God in Christ is to come into that life which is worthy to be called life indeed.
None of us merits this life, nor can we ever merit it. Even our mortal life is a gift of divine mercy, and this heavenly life is a gift too high for the fingers of human merit to reach. Jesus says, I give unto them eternal life. What He gives is not mere existence, which may be a curse, but a holy and happy life, the same life that will expand and develop itself in Heaven. And because it is eternal, it can never come to an end. How can that be eternal which comes to an end. Language is given to reveal truth, and eternal means that it never ends. Because He lives, His people shall live also.
So we have remembered you in prayer, that you may lay hold on this eternal life even now. May the Lord give you faith to rest wholly upon the Person of Jesus Christ, trusting Him without fear for your present and your eternal salvation. May you know that to believe on Him is to have everlasting life as a present possession, a life which will keep you safe not only in this world, but through death and into glory. For the Christian does not truly die, but passes to be with the Lord who is the Heaven of Heaven.
We pray that God will keep you in His tender care, guard you by His power, and in His mercy bring you at last to that better side where you shall see Jesus and be without fault before the throne, hungering no more and guided to fountains of waters of life. May you know Him and be known as one of His sheep whom He keeps forever.
