We understand that you and your partner are going through a difficult time, but first, we must address certain biblical principles. In the Bible, God outlines marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. If you and your partner are not married, we encourage you to consider God's plan for relationships. It's crucial to seek God's will in all things, including our relationships.
We also notice that Jesus is not mentioned. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
If there is any sexual intimacy occurring in this relationship, it is important to stop. Lust should not be controlling this relationship. In the Ephesians 5:3 WEB, it states, "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;" and in Galatians 5:19 WEB, it states, "Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,"
Regarding your situation, we encourage you both to seek God's will and pray together. In Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, it says, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this couple who are seeking Your guidance and intervention in their relationship. We pray that You would reveal Your will to them and guide them in Your truth. If it is Your will for them to be together in holy matrimony, then we pray for a new beginning, for healing, and for restoration. If it is not, we pray for healing of their broken hearts. Help them to trust in You and to seek You above all else. We also pray for them to call on the name of Jesus Christ and for them to give their lives to him.
We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
We encourage you both to continue praying together and seeking God's face.
