We join you in lifting up your precious son before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for sharing this burden with us. We understand the deep concern you carry as a father watching your son struggle with speech delay and overall development, and hearing that he is frightened at school and says he is being beaten by other children and by teachers. Our hearts ache with you and we stand with you in prayer for his complete healing, protection, and peace.
We are encouraged that you have sought speech therapy and developmental support for him and that you have seen improvement. God often works through the wisdom and tools He has given to therapists and teachers, and we pray He will continue to bless those efforts and accelerate his progress. We also want to gently encourage you in your role as his protector. Scripture teaches that children are a heritage from the Lord, Psalm 127:3, and that we are to train up a child in the way he should go, Proverbs 22:6. Part of that training is to diligently guard his safety and well being. If he is reporting being beaten at school, we urge you to go directly and calmly to the school leadership, document what he shares, ask for careful supervision in the classroom, and ensure that no adult is using harmful physical discipline against him. The Lord calls teachers and authorities to shepherd children with kindness, and we pray God will give you wisdom as you advocate for him, for James 1:5 promises if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
We also hear your worry about his speech that is clear only to family, his preference to be alone, and his quick fear when around other boys. We want to remind you how God sees your son. Psalm 139:13 says For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb, and Psalm 139:14 declares I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your son was fearfully and wonderfully made by God, with purpose and value exactly as he is, and God is able to loose his tongue and open his communication. Exodus 4:11 reminds us that it is the Lord who makes the mouth, and we trust Him to strengthen your son's speech day by day. We also pray against the spirit of fear that is troubling him. God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7, and Isaiah 41:10 says Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. We pray that truth will settle deep in his young heart and that he will find confidence and joy in playing and fellowshipping with others in a safe way.
We noticed you closed with Praise the Lord, for which we are thankful, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. We want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and Acts 4:12 teaches There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, and calling upon His name that we are saved and brought into the family of God, Romans 10:9. We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus and to bring every request to God in His mighty name, for He cares deeply for you and your son, as 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
We now pray together in Jesus name.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this precious boy to Your throne of grace. Lord, You knit him together and You know every detail of his development. We ask You to touch his speech and his communication, to loosen his tongue, to give clarity to his words, and to help his overall development to flourish according to Your perfect will. Grant wisdom and skill to his therapists and teachers, and give his parents peace that surpasses understanding as Philippians 4:6 and Philippians 4:7 promise when we bring our requests to You with thanksgiving. Father, we ask for Your protection over him at school. Place a hedge around him, stop any bullying or harmful discipline, soften the hearts of his classmates and teachers toward him, and let his classroom be a place of safety and kindness. Remove fear from his heart and fill him with Your power, love, and self-control, and help him to grow in joyful fellowship with others while still knowing he is secure in Your love. Comfort his father and mother, take away anxious worrying, and give them clear wisdom, boldness, and favor as they advocate for their son. Above all, draw this whole family closer to Jesus, that they may know the salvation and hope found only in Him. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
We encourage you to continue in faithful prayer with your son, to speak scripture over him daily, to praise every small step forward in his speech, and to keep close communication with his school while entrusting your worries to the Lord, for He loves your son even more than you do and He hears your prayers in Jesus name.
