The Scripture reminds us of His tender care for us. Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3. He is also our refuge and keeper, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. And we are comforted that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1.
Your desire to love and obey Him more is the very heart of our walk with Christ. Jesus said, If you love me, keep my commandments John 14:15, and we are taught For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous 1 John 5:3. As we trust Him fully, we can rest in His promise to guide us, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6.
We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we are heard and saved.
We pray together now. Father God, we lift up this dear one and their loved ones to You today. We ask for Your healing hand upon every need of body, mind and spirit, and for Your holy protection over them from all harm and evil. Cover them under Your wings and let Your peace rest upon their home. Draw them ever closer to You, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and give them a deeper love for You and strength to obey Your word with joy. Help them to walk faithfully in Your will today and always. Your prayer is heard and it is our joy to join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.
We pray with you, Father God, heal and protect us today, help us to love and obey You more, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. How sweet is such a prayer, for it asks for the very things which God delights to give.
You ask to love Him more, and remember this truth, we love Him because He first loved us. The only way to love God more is to let the love of God to you dwell in your soul till it transforms your soul into itself. Let your soul swim as in a sea of His love, and think much upon His great love to you in Christ, and your own love to Him shall be nourished and shall abound. Perfect love to God leads to the perfect life with God, and love to God will strengthen you for service and for endurance.
You ask also to obey Him more, and towards God a blind obedience is the truest wisdom. To follow the path that God marks out from day to day, believing God and taking firm hold upon His promise, this is to endure as seeing Him that is invisible. The exactness of obedience is the very essence of obedience. May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ, that your obedience may be wholehearted and complete, not going thus far and no further, but yielding all to Him who gave all for you.
So we commend you to His healing hand and His keeping power this day. May He lay His hand upon you for healing according to His wise and gracious will, and may He cover you under the shadow of His wings and keep you from all evil. Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I ask You to heal and protect this one and those with them today. Spread Your hand over them, keep them from harm, and restore what is weak or wounded according to Your mercy and wisdom. Help them to love You more deeply and to obey You more fully, for love is shown when we hear Your word and keep Your commandments, and obedience is the sure proof of love for the Son and for the Father.
Grant them grace to walk in Your ways with reverence and joy, to give themselves wholly to You, and to live not only for themselves but for the good of others, using whatever You have entrusted to them for Your glory. Teach them to love You above all else, knowing that when You are loved first, Your protection and presence remain steadfast.
