It is a sweet comfort to remember that our God is the God of Heaven who hears even the brief, silent prayer. Like Nehemiah before the king, such a prayer may be presented as in the blinking of an eye, perfectly secret as to any outward sign, and yet it prevails with God, for He knows to whom we pray and He hears us.
You have done well to bring your silent requests in the name of Jesus, for there is no other way to the Father. I would have you take God at His word and trust Him fully. If He says He will save and hear you if you trust in the blood of Jesus Christ, then trust Him, and know that He will not destroy the soul that trusts in Christ. Do not be always saying, Am I His or am I not, but believe Him, for it is true humility to take God at His word and to believe Him. Remember that where God begins a work, He does not ask us to finish it, He always completes His own work.
And while you wait, remember that God has already spoken in His holiness. You may say with faith, God has spoken, I will rejoice. The very fact that God has spoken in His Word should be your joy, and you may pray with confidence, Will not You, O God, act so that Your glory may be seen.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, God of Heaven, we thank You that You are a prayer hearing God and that You know the silent requests of this heart though they are not uttered with lips. We bring them before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ alone, through whom alone we have salvation and access to You. Grant according to Your holy will and Your great mercy, which is great unto the heavens. Teach us Your statutes, and help this one to trust wholly in the finished work of Christ, to know present peace and to rejoice in hope of Your glory. Do as You have spoken, and be exalted above the heavens. We thank You for all Your blessings. In Jesus name, Amen.
