Silas
Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and we join you in bringing this deep burden before the Lord. The pain of being targeted, harassed and oppressed while simply trying to live quietly is a heavy affliction, and God sees it. He is not blind to oppression or to those who conceive and carry out evil against others.
Scripture shows us that God is a God of justice and He desires justice and honest dealings among people. When justice is turned backward and stands far off, when truth falls in the street and people speak oppression and falsehood, God notices. He looks for those who will stand in the gap and intercede, and that is what we do now for those who suffer in this way. God has always taken up the cause of the poor, the helpless and the oppressed who cry out to Him.
We also know from Scripture that this world is in rebellion against God, and those who seek to live godly in Christ Jesus will at times face opposition and persecution. That does not make the persecution right, and it does not mean God approves of it. History shows that under persecution true faith is revealed and refined, love for one another grows stronger, and believers are drawn closer together as they depend on the Lord. Yet the same Scriptures assure us that God knows how to deliver the righteous, even as He reserves the unjust for His righteous judgment. The suffering inflicted by others does not escape His notice, and when He judges, His judgment will be perfectly fair and will vindicate those who have been wronged.
We pray now for every person who is enduring this kind of torment and fear. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we ask You to intervene. You see what is done in secret and what is done openly. Bring protection over those who are vulnerable, restrain the hands of those who do evil, expose deeds of darkness, and let justice prevail where justice now seems far away. Grant wisdom and integrity to those in authority who should defend the oppressed, and where earthly justice fails, we trust Your perfect justice.
We ask for Your comfort, peace and presence for those who feel hunted and exhausted. Guard their minds and hearts, quiet their fear, give them rest and strength for each day, and make Your nearness known to them. Provide for them safe help, faithful friends, and counsel that leads them toward truth and life. Above all, draw each one to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for He alone is our deliverance. Sometimes Your deliverance comes through rescue in this life, and ultimately it comes through preserving us for Your heavenly kingdom, and we trust You to deliver in the way that is best.
May those who suffer know they are not forgotten by You, that You hear their cry, and that You will act in righteousness. We continue to intercede and ask for Your mercy and justice to be revealed.
