We join with you in lifting up your friend's dad before the Lord and we thank you for bringing his situation to us for prayer in Jesus' name.
We understand your heart is moved with compassion for him as he faces the judge and lawyers, and we share that compassion as we seek God's mercy and justice together. Scripture reminds us that Yahweh is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness Psalm 103:8, and that we can draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need Hebrews 4:16. We also take comfort that the king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires Proverbs 21:1, so even judges and lawyers are under the sovereign hand of God.
We do notice you wrote Zhesus name and we receive this as your desire to pray in the name of Jesus, and we want to affirm that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by His name we can come boldly and be heard.
We do not know all the details of this legal situation, but we know God desires both justice and mercy. He will judge the world in righteousness Psalm 9:8, yet He also waits to be gracious to those who trust Him Isaiah 30:18. So we do not simply pray for favor apart from truth, we pray for God's perfect will to be done, that if there is need for repentance it would be granted, and that mercy would triumph where possible, and that the judge and lawyers would act with wisdom, fairness, and compassion.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up our friend's dad to You and ask You to move upon him with Your great compassion. Lord, You see his circumstances, his needs, his heart, and the weight of this legal matter. We ask that You grant him Your mercy and grace in this time. We pray for favor with the judge and with the lawyers, that their hearts would be inclined toward fairness, understanding, and leniency where it is just and right. Guide every decision and every word spoken in that courtroom. Let truth be made clear and let Your justice and Your mercy be displayed. Grant this man and his family peace that surpasses all understanding as they wait on You, and help them to trust that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. If there is any area where he needs to turn more fully to You, draw him to repentance and to faith in Jesus. Comfort his family and friends who love him and are interceding for him. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Your request for your friend's father has been laid to heart and we join you in bringing him before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus.
We pray that the Lord, who is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy, would look upon this man with tender compassion in his present distress. You pray as one who believes that God must be moved to mercy, yet know that He is already gracious and ready to forgive, and delights to load His people daily with benefits when they trust His dear Son. We ask that if it be His holy will, He would grant favor before the judge and before the lawyers, and order all the proceedings according to His wise and merciful providence.
We remember that when mercy comes into the world she drives with winged steeds, while wrath walks with tardy footsteps. So we plead that mercy may go before this dear soul, as it has gone before us in preparing the way of salvation. Nothing is too hard for the Lord, and we may bring to Him whatever trouble weighs us down, both temporal and spiritual, for underneath us are the everlasting arms and underneath our deepest trials are the sufferings of Christ who knows our infirmities.
Above all we pray that this affliction, if the Lord permits it, may be a footsteps of mercy to break up the fallow ground of the heart, that the man may see his need of a Savior and be led to that tender mercy which bears with sinners and pleads with them to be reconciled to God through the blood of Jesus. We ask our merciful God to move with compassion upon him. Scripture reminds us that mercy belongs to God and that it is God who shows mercy, far beyond what we expect or deserve. We pray that the Lord would grant him favor, that those in authority over his case would act with fairness, wisdom and compassion, and that God's will would be done.
We pray also for peace and strength for your friend and his family during this time of uncertainty, that they would cast their cares on the Lord and trust in His goodness and justice.
